The recent events have shed light on the fact that Female MC has not made ANY PROGRESS since the late 1990's.

Female MC were not all legit to begin with, but they had more style than they do now. These female artist of right now dont have any style for me to vibe to this summer.

Women dont even dance to these female rap songs at all!

Lauryn Hill = recently sounded like a wet cat on stage and ONLINE.

Azalea Banks = recently rapping about "clapping at ya man vans/ya little man scrams" dressed like a SAILOR MOON reject in NEW YORK CITY. A Fashionista who CANNOT DRESS.

Nicki Minaj = has one quote worthy verse in 5 YEARS, AND ITS ABOUT HER AZZ.

Kreayshawn & VNasty = ratchet white girls who can lip sync really good.

Iggy = cant really rap, got some gear, but she looks like shes on the verge of MOLLY.

RYE RYE = club hoodrat who fills her lane, but she is signed to...

MIA = an outsourced East Indian girl who wants to play hoodrat, and intelligent hoodlum at the same time.

DIAMOND from ATL = got kicked out of everything in her career, now she really is missing from the game, she was the original crunk hoodrat for the 2000's.

REMY MA = is she still in jail? Will she even care to rap when she does get out?

SHAWNNA = getting some head, then she disappeared?

Maybe on a mainstream level female MC's are a dying breed. But overall between Jean Grae, Rah Digga, Foxy in her prime and the great Mc Lyte the game has been blessed with some nice females on the mic. I think Jean Grae is the female version of Nas and the best ever but u know shyt like that won't sell because she ain't selling sex with her music. No females really sell anyway other than Nicki Lil Kim and Foxy in their prime. And maybe Da Brat.

It's sad but I co-sign this thread. If not dead, on life support and the plug is about to get pulled. The fact that NICKI is the only one with any type of mainstream success shows you how the game has litterally shut out female emcees. It's sad too cause a lot of the youth is growing up with Hip Hop there is ZERO balance at all. I grew up in the 80's and 90's Hip Hop where there was tons of Females Emcees. Also Nicki is not the proper representation of the female emcee as far as skills. There are females who can rap just as good if not better than some dudes but they don't get the attention or spotlight. Also Females are high maitence so labels don't want to deal with them. Tours cost way more cause females require more attention than males as far as makeup and clothing. It's sad but look how long it's been since some of these Great females released LP's:

Foxy 11 Years (Legal and Label Issues)
Lauryn 10 Years (Said fukk the industry and had a million kids with the marley legacy)
Eve 10 Years (Movies, TV, Fashion)
Da Brat 8 Years (Jail and other issues)
Lil Kim 7 Years (Jail and label issues)
Missy 6 years (Heath Issues)


It's pretty sad at that the state of female hip hop. Salute to the females that blazed the game, their contribution won't forgotten. Nicki even though she is successful is not putting females forward cause her music is average pop weak sh#t.
