I grew up pretty suburban but was never obsessed with being white and to me that didn't mean acting ghetto. I didn't even grow up around a lot of black people and never felt that I needed to act like the lowest common denominator to be a black person. Never felt rejected by other black people either when I moved to Atlanta. If anything I felt awkward cuz I'm from Kansas and felt like a country girl in a bigger city.

I remember guys in Atlanta asking me if I only dated white guys, to which I would answer "why would i do that? why would you think that about me?" Lol.

I guessing for some suburban black people that's the norm. .. .
