of course we try to guide them towards their own, but at the end of the day, they will choose what they like. they are literally surrounded by non black females. i have gone to football games and school functions and you can count the black people on your hands (including our family). i, on the other hand, went to a majority black school, so i still have the swag, street smarts, and sensibilities of a black man and i'm really only attracted to black women (maybe a latina every now and then). i essentially have two VERY sheltered suburban, Tyler the Creator type sons. Vans, slim jeans, and tshirts with corny phrases on the front or plaid button ups with the sleeves rolled up....that's the attire. i don't knock it, because they are also honor roll students. but sometimes, i wish they were more like me. neither one listens to hip hop or really any music at all. oldest son only listens to marching bands play on youtube and my youngest is a hardcore gamer, so if it's not music that's on a game, he doesn't listen. it's strange, but that's my boys
