For the first MCU X-men, I would use sentinels as the villains and loosely base the storyline off of Giant Sized X-men #1.
Man what? Yall want these marvel x men movies to flop I see.
The 1st villain of the x-men should be the everyday human people and a couple of sentinels at most.
It could almost X copy night of the sentinels from the 90's cartoon show.
A couple hate groups (pre purifiers) hating and attacking the young xmen before they become xmen and charles gathering the xmen for his school...
perfect!
after credit scene should be magneto related hints
If they mimic this scene I'd be so geeked. I'd probably hop up out my seat geeeekking
The xmen 90's cartoon didn't have a ton of action but it had great content, the movies should be somewhere in between that.
Part of what you wrote is an origin story (before they became X-Men, Charles gathering them) and the biggest logistical problem we've been talking about is where did the X-Men come from?
You can't just jump right into a origin story. Even if they wrote the movie exactly how you said....and it's amazing....at the end of the movie you gotta figure out how to get them from where they are, to the MCU.
And, this is just my personal opinion....but as large and expansive as the X-Men universe is....I'll never get why people want to see the same characters and versions of the same stories that have been in the movies the last 20 years. Or if they're gonna retread the same ground at least introduce Genosha or something.
Fred.
Alot of people's powers come from the infinity stones in the MCU. I wonder if the events in endgame might cause some event where some of the people who are returned from the snappening, now have special abilities as a result. Sort of like how Janet had abilities after coming back from the microverse. The Hank Pym looking suits in the trailer suggest that this could be a possibility.

I actually dont think the mutant origin or epidemic should be addressed in the xmen movie 1st.
It needs to be established outside of the xmen movies that mutants are a thing and around. That way coming into the xmen movies it won't feel tacked on or out of place.
Trying to explain were mutants came from, the origin of the xmen and then some is alot for one movies plate.
Especially for characters that alot of people already know some of the history behind.
Think about it like how they did spiderman in civil war.
They established that spiderman was a thing and connected to the bigger picture before they released his movie. That why they didn't have to try and make it make sense to the viewers that he's always been around, and they were able to skimp on some origin stuff too because of the characters popularity and it already being established that he's "around" so there enough familiarity.
The same should be done with mutants, they mutant threat or rising needs to be addressed even if slightly in an avengers movie or something before and outside of the xmen movie.
Hold on a sec man....
The Spider-Man thing they could do because he was out fighting purse snatchers and shyt. The Avengers were fighting aliens....so they could play it like "well, he slid under the radar until now".
You can't do that with a whole new species, mutants. And a whole team of them, the X-Men. Not to mention, all the villains.
The X-Men/mutants thing is supposed to be a metaphor for racism....so why haven't they been a problem up until now?
You get what I'm saying? Even if you make an X-Men movie, figure out their origin in the context of the movie....and that movie is GOAT level....you still gotta somehow connect all that to the MCU.
So IMO it's not possible to say they already existed. They gotta go the "alternate timeline/reality" route with the Quantum Realm, or the Reality Stone.
