Shannon's Zod was definitely top tier, he carried every scene he was in and somehow made characters with planet cracking power more human. Zod had more depth than you see in most villains and even if you didn't agree, you could understand where he was coming from.

I remember when MOS came out, the audience reaction was mixed to negative but I’ve noticed that change overtime. It’s funny what a decade does to a film.
