What about this show is how they did the same thing they did last year with Reverse Flash:
The hero and villain face off and you look at the clock and think they might cut it off as a cliffhanger before they actually fight. Most other shows would roll credits right there.
Instead, the villain beats the hero badly to show you he's just not ready yet.
