There’s a reason Nintendo have a japan-only Switch 2 that retails for 300 dollars. They sell too many consoles in japan to kill that market with high prices.

the US is a battleground between xbox and sony, its the largest market for gaming, period (being followed closely by China now) and its literally the only region where people buy Xbox’s still. For them to price themselves out means they are completely throwing in the towel with hardware.

if Sony doesn’t jump to do it like othe regions its because tehy still need to sell more hardware here

I'm late this news and went retro a long time ago, so I don't keep up with gaming news like I use to. Was browsing through neogaf and various YT comment sections and some of these fools are willing to pay even more than $80

Being the ones implementing these bullshyt practices must feel great; your product doesn't have look or play anything like how it was hyped, doesn't have to ship out with a case/manual/boxart, can strip out features that were previously apart of the game and charge for them later, doesn't even have to work when people buy it, can keep it going with seasons n shyt, up the price for BS reasons and you'll still have a bunch of rubes going

There's nothing to come around to. Gamers should get whatever they're willing to accept. I'd be fine with games costing $200 a game if gamers in the market are ok paying that. Eventually after all the FOMO buyers cop it'll come down.

Eventually the price will come down so if they can't wait that's on them. Video games as a business has become about exploiting gamers FOMO. They hide all the info on these games and cultivate all this hype and we all know by Black Friday these things are $20-$30 off.
