The beauty of this interview is that it's magic johnson talking to another young brutha. which means he's going to be 100% unscripted and he wont hide any information. The 5 links/multi level marketing types will take the words he said about black folks sometimes not wanting to do what it takes and run with that. or the part where he talks about being, willing to do what it takes. but they wont tell the full story.
#1 you have to be blessed multiple times over ESPECIALLY when you're black.
#1A. Magic johnson was blessed to be born to a good family.
#2. Magic's father was a SUPER work horse(the man never missed a day and was never late. insane worker for you to learn from directly and you possibly may luck up have inherit that DNA. thats not normal work ethic. that can't be taught on its on. It has to be in you and be nurtured. I'm not talking about normal hard work. thats Pdiddy level hard work. non stop work.
#3. Magic's daddy was a super hustla. Had his own side hustle. Magic worked wit him too. This is how you get rid of the fear part of trying to own your own business. when you have a close friend/family member that you can follow after to see that ups and downs of it all. How much work is necessary to be successful. the pit falls, etc.
#4. Magic tells you about 2 other well known black businessmen in that small town area and he had a chance to work in that one building. again yet another mentor thats REALLY about dat life. not the nonsense talking about it but you never done it, types that profit off of people that are rushing to get rich quick. You know, like the multi level marketing clowns. like a lot of people that listen to a lot of black youtubers and only run with an 8th of the story-line.
#5. he had yet another guy when he made that radio deal to lean on. another mentor about that life.
#6. then he had jerry buss. Who let him all the way into the business lakers(as well as real estate business). How is it done, steps 1 - 40. taught him the entire business.
#7. he had a big time agent. another mentor. taught him the deal making business for entertainer/business people.
wait. i skipped what should be inserted into #4... He was a 6'9 basketball player that was blessed with not just height, but agility/talent, etc.
wait, another #4a. he was blessed with a superior amount of charisma. most people can't light up the room like that(makes it a lot easier to make deals/meet people get along with them , etc. You don't even need to watch the video and he makes you smile listening to just the audio. )
Wait another one which ties into #1. a good family. God fearing family that wasnt into gambling. That combination is the reason why he wasnt into gambling not because he was from a broke home base. My pops was from a broke home base, yet he fell in love with gambling. Why? because his dad was a gambler and he didnt even get raised by his pops but it was in his DNA. Luckily for me I didnt inherit that desire to blow my doe at the card table/pool table/ etc. But thats because my mother was a God fearing woman constantly preaching that dont gamble like ya daddy sermon. And lucky for me my father was in my life so I got to see first hand the highs and lows of him gambling. I figured. nope, no need for those headaches. I'm good.
oops,.how did i leave out Cookie Johnson. She got him back out on that horse when life seemed to beat even the magic man down. They stole his light and she lit the torch again. Don't marry just any old cute lady or dude. If you want to know what a real one is worth. That statement he made about her is what its all about. Didnt sugar coat it, straight no chaser. Bruh get out ya feelings and be the best you can be. Lets go.
^^All that = How he did it. Now the next time someone tells that lie about all it takes is for you to try hard and not be afraid. STOP IT. That's a portion of it but you have a lot more blessings and luck needed on top of other things that you need to learn.
Oh oh, one mo. He's blessed with being born the type of person that knows and admits when he's not good at something. everyone isnt like that either. a lot of people lie to themselves about how good they are at things they are not good at. This mentality is the reason why he was so quick to ask that guy to go with him to purchase the radio station. This is also the reason why he was such a good mentee.
Lastly, notice his goals were not just about him and his family. They were also about uplifting the less fortunate. Sure you can be a billionaire A hole but why do that when you could be a billionaire good guy.People will remember you and revere you forever.
