Draft: 1994, 10th overall by Los Angeles Lakers
Teams: Lakers Hornets Heat Grizzlies Mavericks
Accolades: 3x all star, 3x defensive 2nd team, all NBA 3rd team(2000), steals leader (2000), Rookie Challenge MVP
Career Stats: 14.8ppg, 1.7spg, 4.0rpg
Eddie Jones is one of the greatest Lakers and Heat players of all time...Dude was a lockdown defender and could score from anywhere on the floor.
He was drafted by Jerry West at a time when tje Lakers had a logjam on the wing...but the logo knew what was up
At times before Shaq got there I think he was their best player
Dude was just a flat out great fundamental wingman
He averaged 14pts and 2stls as a rookie and became an all star his 3rd year in the league once Shaq got there...
A couple of years later he was traded to the Hornets for Glen Rice
The next year the Lakers won the championship while he balled out for the Hornets averaging 20.7pts damn near 5rb and 5asts with 2.7stls to lead the league
The next year he was signed and traded to the Heat for Jamal Mashburn...he became a top 10 all time scorer for the Heat
He was pretty good in Miami he led the team in scoring in Dwayne Wade's rookie year despite them also having caron butler and Odom
Of course he was traded to Memphis after 5 years with the Heat and Miami ends up winning the championship...only for him to return a year later
His career was never the same after that he basically fizzled out and played a few games with the Mavericks before retiring
Nowadays it seems as if he's a family man that tries to stay out of the spotlight...I really couldn't find too much on his private life
