If somehow the aging process slows down, sure.

I have pessimistic view of things in the short term and optimistic view on the long term.
Short term - Next 50 - 100 years I see another major conflict between the worlds great powers China and U.S.
Rise of facism and right wing governments in in Europe due to influx of refugees
Water shortages, climate change, famine, will plague Africa and thus we'll see more conflict on that continent. This will in turn cause more refugees to flee to Europe (which will again contribute to the rise of facism).


While all this is taking place our world will be completely changing by AI, and genetic engineering and nano tech. Unfortunately the only ones who will initially benefit from these technologies will be the super rich. We might see a scenario very similar to the movie Elysium, where the rich enjoy the luxeries of new technology and the poor are pretty much left to their own devices.


Long term - 100 years and beyond
Technology will be so pervasive that everyone benefits from it legally amd illegally. The effects of climate change will be so extreme that we'll be seriously looking towards other star systems to inhabit.

The human race and the earth itself have a expiration date, we are in a grand countdown scheme.

The only certainty i have for the future is chaos and despair. And then the judgment comes

Things will get worse in the West because of infighting due to social and financial inequality. Actually i think there will be less likelihood of another World War since more countries will have nuclear weapons by then and that will deter countries from invading each other.

This...proxy war will return or corporate war.

I totally think Hideo Kojima was right about PMCs and privately funded fighting forces. Imagine Amazon's military wing...or Google's military intelligence wing.


If anything I think the world is going to become much stranger...but I think we are due for a wave of benevolent leadership. Based on American history at least, there's usually 20-25 years after a recession/depression before a boom. So in the next ten years we could see the 90's wave of excess pop off again...followed by another bust.

FACTS!

When I was a kid, and a younger adult, I wanted kids so I could create the family I never had. Now, I see shyt for what it is. It would be extremely selfish to bring my progeny into this hell. That is why I am now antinatalist (against having kids).

yes and it is a huge responsibility being a parent in life. I can imagine being a parent is not easy

I think hope. The mass are growing extremely tired of massive capitalism and greed. I think will force it to switch to a more equalize global economy where people are guaranteed a standard of living. Populations are growing while tech is killing jobs. A technologized world may not be so bad.

Imagine using to technology to rapidly produced rice or avocado etc. At such a rapid pace that everyone is eating good.

• Medicine and technology would have advanced so much that scientists can extend the lifespan of humans by 50%
