No it will not have free roam. This is the Sim Forza 5. A Forza horizon 2 will come to X1 mostly likely in year 2 of X1 lifespan.
LOL Thats why I gave those examples. The vast majority of races happen in clear and daylight conditions. Most gamers who enjoy sim racers dont care for driving in the rain or night. Its a nice feature to have but its not necessary to enjoy the game. You are just using this "excuse" as for a reason to shyt on the game.
So we're pretending that just about every motorsport series in the world bar the ones that run on ovals don't race in the rain? It takes OUTRAGEOUSLY poor conditions for a road-race to be red-flagged for weather. Some of the greatest races of all time have gone down in the wet. It's a challenge, and weather changes is something that every sim-racer clamors for any time a sim gets released. Why? Weather changes are a part of racing.
Do you think Codemasters could really up and do the F1 games without rain? It'd be a flatly inaccurate portrayal of the world they're claiming to represent. Why should Turn 10 get a pass for this?
And endurance racing has been a cornerstone of the motorsport world for a century. The fact that Forza has Le Mans but doesn't have weather or day/night cycle is every bit as egregious as it was when Polyphony did the same shyt with Gran Turismo 4. shyt, Forza has La Sarthe, the Nurb, AND Sebring.
The location of the three greatest endurance races in the world but have not done what it takes to properly recreate what makes those races the classics they are. You really think this game loses nothing by being unable to blast down the Mulsanne in the pitch darkas the sky begins to open? It's moments like that that define endurance racing, and it's completely excluded.
If this was a stripped out super-sim in the vein of iRacing or the GOAT Grand Prix Legends, you could excuse this. You could say they focused so much on hardcore physics they didn't have room or resources for fluff. But that isn't the case, at all. This game is going to feature tons of stylistic and presentation flourishes, but they skimped on the full experience.
Not to mention, they are completely excluding rally racing. Again. Rallying goes through all weather, all times of day, and has for as long as nikkas could drive in a forest. And Forza just casually ignores yet another cornerstone of racing.
They're FINALLY including open-wheel cars, so good on them. But again, most of the great open-wheel races (especially in the last fifteen years) have taken place in the rain.
They're coming half-correctly.
