The bolded you mentioned is exactly why it's a flop in addition to the big name features he has. I don't know why he thought doing a sacrileges compilation album would work. Also, it's not an obsession just to point out that an album flopped. He needed to come through on this album to use the sells as leverage for his next deal but he tried too hard.

Cause labels be buying these new artist records to hype them, they know people these days don't have a mind and simply buy whats percieved as popular, anfd that works with the new artist, they don't give that same love when they are about to leave from that label or fall off.....You see how 50 can't get a release after being Mr Interscope, the same powers are at play here

I honestly didnt even know the album was coming out, when it leaked last week, I thought it was leaking months in advance. This nikka didnt really start promoting this til like a month ago. Its nikkas who promote they album for years with push-back after push-back (Ross, Jeezy, Meek, etc).
Now whether or not he recouped idk, I mean you'd think the label would have a grasp on how much the Game would sell and would budget accordingly. 75k at about $12 is $900,000. Let's say his label gets half that money 450k...I doubt his album cost much more than that to produce, promote, distribute. The album will probably fizzle out around 200k (low-end) therefore they would have possibly made over $700k from it over the next year...
If you got more insight on this shyt let me/us know, I've always wondered about shyt like this
