But this is where you run into a problem. This is the only industry where you will see people not only being okay but defending to an absurd degree the ignorance of people within the industry. Other industries. such will get you clowned.

That said, Harlow's base is full of nitwits as stupid as he is so I'll agree on that point.

So what if you get clowned as long as you’re bringing in bread. Money is all that matters in the entertainment industry and how much of it that you can bring in. Let’s not pretend otherwise and act like respect matters.

-If anything this makes Game look like an idiot. If he expects his daughter to know or care about Brandy/Ray J he should've taught her.

Brandy was big in the 90s and Ray J was a 2 hit wonder and a reality tv star. I'm sure 98% of kids under 22 don't know they are siblings. Kids in that age range may catch 90s music when their parents listen to it and if they really like that 90s sound, then they may get into it, but otherwise, they don't know and don't care and I can't blame them because that's not their generation of music.

This wasn't my experience growing up. I was born in '86 but my parents started me off listening to Motown and old school RnB. It was fairly commonplace as far as I can tell. I remember being in middle school and everyone was constantly quizzing each other about the oldies and pretty much everyone had a solid foundation. We used to crack that "Aint nobody comin to see you otis" joke after that Temptations movie dropped. We knew what time it was.

I was 12 years old listening to Gap Bap, SOS Band, Teddy Pendergrass, Earth Wind and Fire, Marvin Gaye, Rick James, Slave, etc (this is still my favorite genere/era of music to listen to til this day). Then slowly over time I started adding in more hip hop as I started to mature. I think this is the normal progression. At least it was like that when I was growing up.

EDIT: How these kids are growing up in the information age and don't know anything is beyond me.

My experience was being clowned for liking old music. People were more focused on the big artists of the day like Bone Thugs, Snoop Dogg, H Town, Jodeci, Boys II Men, etc. I don't ever recall anyone my age just turning on Maze or Willie Hutch like that.

I don't feel like Ray J is big enough and Brandy's hey day was too far back for the younger generation to really care about their familial relations.. They might know a lot more about 2pac and Biggie but they aren't going to know about Ray J.

I do agree with that somewhat. Rep means a lot and it is easy for someone who was making money to fall off in one respect or another. That said though, clowning would still occur. If Harlow was at least clowned for his ignorance without defense, I'd get it but the extent some people went to cape for him over this is ridiculous, unheard of in other industries.
