the gap betwixt Jeezy & Ross is abhorrent.

I don't think it's THAT BAD....

it's just that ROSS right now is more productive and prolific as an artist.....

he's always got something in rotation whether it's his own track, collabo, mixtape joint or something..the boy really works hard...and fortunantly it's been for the most part good quality shyt...

Jeezy on the other hand just needs to up the ante...and stop regulating himself to being just an album artist, and push himself more on the mixtape circuit and be more visable (videos)..... as well as build stronger aliances with other artists who are hitting right now.

matter of fact i was at a sports bar last weekend and the deejay threw on a Jeezy medley featuring tracks from all his albums and going all the way back to his TRAP OR DIE days, and people were singing along like a chorus..... :mj:

so the catalog still holds weight

Why would you lower yourself to the level of releasing mixtapes if you don't have too. Why oversature yourself and then reduce your own sales?

There's more than music to these guys, let em live a little. Jeezy doesn't need to be slaving out in a studio releasing free music in order to stay relevant.

Get right has charged higher than most of Ross' GFID singles, and there was no promotion, no industry dikk riding press conference or an r&b superstar on the track

Im saying tho.

Anybody notice how Jeezys online soldiers increased 10 fold once he started his little beef with you know who :mjpls:

Before that these same dudes used to lump Jeezy in with the rest of the rappers they claimed were killing hiphop back when the A had their run. There were no appreciation threads for 101, 102, or The recession on any hiphop forums back when they first dropped.

nikkas pretending to be down with a rapper just because he goin at a rapper they they dont like. Thats whats hot on hiphop message boards
:mindblown:

Clearly you wasn't on sohh back then

In everything. Music quality, working his label and putting people on, touring. Out here it is very clear who the biggest artist is and has been between the two. Can't speak for the rest of the country obviously.

The thing about it is just because Jeezy didn't Release a album for 2 years don't mean he wasn't making good music. nikka released so many bangers on the mixtapes during that time we was waiting on 103. You think Jeezy ain't out there on the road bruh. Him and Ross performing at the same venues here in Detroit.

Jeezy has never really been super commercially huge, he's generally for street rap purists, he's like michael jackson in mad hoods and shyt like that. He's not on twitter, dropping ustreams, on twitter spamming or posting mad videos to YN showing his lavish lifestyle and all that shyt.

He goes city to city, club to club, venue to venue and therefore his buzz might not be felt by the people not really checking for him. While Ross's hype is bigger than his actual buzz. The complete opposite of Jeezy. Jeezy can drop a strip club joint with Plies and it hits #30 like nothing.

So while Ross has been a lot bigger commercially, he's not been a lot bigger overall. They sell out the same venues, jeezy sells more and his singles chart higher in Jeezys worst period career wise. Ross even got MTV to claim that he was hotter than Kanye, Wayne and Drake. As far as music goes though, even though GFID was a let down he's probably been top 3 since 2009.

:pachaha:

You see the problem here is u got some Jeezy fans posting in here that dont listen to Ross yet wanna spit info about his music even though they havent a clue.

Then they wanna argue with u about whos better thinking that your doing the same thing when it comes to Jeezy.

The difference between me and u is that ive listened to BOTH and have been a fan of both since their debuts.....i know what each is capable of as well as their strengths and weaknesses.

So

While u spittin talkin points youve learned from the blog geeks about Ross, im just laughin at u while u pretend like u have any clue what u talkin bout.

So Jeezy is a better emcee than Ross? Really my nikka? :pachaha:

What does bein a better lyrically ain't got shyt to do with havin more quotables:russ: don't try to play that better emcee card y'all only give a shyt about when its convienient "bu bu but he better lyrically NotSoft"...since when y'all care:wtb:? That ain't the measure of a quotable....I like how nikkas skipped over my question though:mpls:

I listened to Rich Forever and GFID which y'all procalimed as greatness and experienced nuthin at all like that....dude is nice enuff lyrically where u have to give him credit and say the beats ain't what's carryin him,he's a serviceable emcee....not the type of emcee where u hangin on every word to hear what he gon say next....u know it will be good lyrically but nuthin to rewind or write home about...he ain't THAT level emcee.

And I wuz one of the first back on sohh tellin nikkas "eh y'all sleep on Ross, this dude is becoming a beast lyrically,Trilla gon make him a factor" them threads wuz doin 1 page less than 15 post...so for all y'all actin like y'all been in awe of this nikka forever and retroactivly makin all his albums classic:wtb: fuk outta here.

He's basically what Freddie Gibbs is without the success....will put out great work, has a ear for beats....nice lyrically...don't mean ima rewind freddie gibbs bcuz his bars don't catch u like that...but I been bumpin that BFK constantly since its dropped....but nikkas like Ross and Gibbs 9 times outta 10 always will have the less standout verse when they get on a song with a nikka like Jeezy....Plies ain't a better emcee but has outshined Ross on every song they've done together...this shyt ain't complicated.

Jeezy threads and even the tm103 thread fell off the front page quick as hell and Jeezy threads don't do numbers u right....the internet soldiers u speak of is probaly the same 10 nikkas arguin with the huge internet fanbase Ross got:obama:...Ross has a bigger internet fanbase what's your point,I already proved it with that digital sales vs physical albums sales thread....Jeezy got the streets....internet soldiers:childplease: ross can have that,he got jeezy beat there...keep gettin them digital sales:laff:

Quotables are purely subjective homeboy. I know plenty of ppl who know tracks like So Sophisticated, Rich Off Cocaine, Im Not A Star, and Valley of Death word for word. Not to say that you cant say the same for Jeezy, but if ur argument is that the streets know Jeezys music and not Ross', u might as well sit down bruh cuz u talkin out ya ass.

And stop using BMF and Hustlin like they prove u know anything about Ross' music. If u REALLY out here in these streets, its damn near impossible not to hear MMG banging in through somebody speakers. You telling on urself if u disagree :mjpls:

Like I said, I can't speak on other regions but out here Ross is a much bigger artist and one people are really into. His music is constantly played around here and has been for a while now. Jeezy has a single out here that has been popular for about 2-3 months now but Rick Ross is pretty much on every other song that gets played.

I didn't really care for his mixtapes personally and he really has never switched up his flow. I feel like Young Jeezy verses are interchangeable. Not saying Rick Ross' are not at times either but he hasn't been popular as long so it doesn't sound as dated.

The only gaps between Ross and Jeezy are:

Jeezy's 2006-2009 sales >>>>> Ross during that period

Ross's overall music from 2009-present >>>> Jeezy's during the same period.

Sales wise as of right now, it's about even. Jeezy's sold north of 650K in about a year since it's release and Ross is around 500K about 3.5 months since it's release.
