i read in an interview that he was tired of putting out music for the sake of it, he wants to drop a top notch which his desire accounts for it; he wants a set of production/soundthat reflects his tastes and also collaborative guests, hinted at nas a few times.

AZ one of my favorite rappers ever, but better than Nas? AZ's flow is water but he always uses the same flow and multis style, Nas has taken more risks, is more artistically creative conceptually, has discussed more topics, better discography too.
