This thread got me thinking about the tragedy the other day so I went looking to see what people's reactions on forums as it happened.

The shock and sadness turns into anger and despair as the threads go on. I'd imagine it was pretty much the same on your all's old forum.

The shock and sadness turns into anger and despair as the threads go on. I'd imagine it was pretty much the same on your all's old forum.
I remember when it was happening and every board was finding any reason they could think of for it not to be Benoit's fault. Mother fukkers were coming up with these wild, completely baseless scenarios, anything that would clear him of any wrong doing.
There was a gas leak. There were hitmen, possibly sent by Kevin Sullivan or mob. Nancy killed the kid on purpose, he killed her out of rage, then himself out of guilt. He somehow killed them on accident and then himself. Etc etc. All because this dude was just too good of a wrestler to do such a thing. A dude who was known to be weird as fukk and scary intense creep even in his WCW days, who had clearly been juicing HEAVILY for about 20 years, who was known to land on his head constantly, who had a coke habit, who had a pill habit, who had an alcohol habit surely could not be capable of such an act because look at the 5 star matches.
I have so many fukking gifs of just the Nitro era of him getting so much brain damage. Check how many times he did the diving headbutt from the top of the cage in a 3-5 year period. He was doing it on random THUNDERS. THUNDER.
