The exposing of inauthenticity.

When it hits the core fans they begin to defend the artist but as time goes on the music doesn't FEEL the same because you are aware, you are WOKE.

I heard of some of my favorite rappers having ghostwriters (Cardan for Mase, Paul Cain for Fabolous, Lupe for Jay-Z or at least Lucifer... ) so I always questioned it.

After Wayne was exposed by Gillie we hit the Drought 3 / Carter 3 Sessions era so we ATE. We tolerated lines like "damn right, i kiss my dehhhDee(daddy)" - Most of us fans still rocked with Wayne because the music was coming out consistently and he proclaimed to be "the best rapper alive", but after time the inauthenticity reigned true. I listened to the FREE WEEZY album, a plethora of potent bars but I couldn't believe it was his, not for this long... i hear Cory Gunz and Euro's spirit's in them bars B. Peter Gunz said in a recent interview his son is doing his thing ghost writing, for who else ?

I can't even take Kanye serious with his lyrics, its either a troll line or some fake revolutionary shyt. Last "conscious" song i like from Kanye was Gorgeous and i don't believe he wrote that shyt, otherwise all his shyt would have at least a hint of that cadence.

I don't believe Wayne and Kanye get as much flac as Drake, possibly because no reference tracks were leaked. Kayne almost seems to get a pass by most people, i dont get why. I'm beginning to question his "genius"

goat post. i used to like Wayne and Cash Money and all that.. stopped immediately when the Gillie stuff happened and all them vids dropped. i was young then too, but i saw it as Wayne being trash and needed to jack someone whole style.. and just left Gillie out to dry. never listened to Wayne again after.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did , he made 1000s of songs and there's only so much shyt you can come up with

FWA sounded like label reference tracks , kinda like how Eminem Recovery was

Hip Hop fans care about it.

Casual music fans do not.

Drake's fan base is mainly casual music fans. It really doesn't mean that much seeing as pop artists have had people write for them for years.

Wayne took a hit because while he does have some non-Hip Hop head fans, his core fan base is still mainly people into Hip Hop. Casual music fans who like 'Got Money' by Lil Wayne don't care if he wrote it or Gudda Gudda did.

Kanye is a producer B.

He gets the same pass as Puff Daddy and Dr. Dre. We look to them to "put together" (produce) records not actually "compose" (neither write songs or play music) them.

There are producers in every genre, but only in hip-hop do they have solo albums as the lead artist.

The artistic part of music is very draining that is why so few artists have classics without a producer like, Ye, Dre or Diddy behind them. Someone to vision the bigger picture and make it come to life.

All 3 have the most classics in hip-hop under their belts collectively and individually.

You're so right. Tha Carter 1 is Waynes only compete body of work. I listened to the Carter 2, drought 3, and no ceilings and I couldn't tolerate 75% of it. All of them had cringe worthy lines. Which really has me believing he couldn't have written that album by himself

Rhymefest wrote gorgeous. Most of kanyes socially conscious songs have been written by him. It doesn't feel the same because it goes against everything you've been told that you have to do to succeed in the rap game. Everything you thought you knew about a rapper becomes questionable.
