does anyone know if the glove's jersey is even retired for the thunder????

GP and Kemp have both said there's no way they are going to retire their numbers in OKC. Funny thing is they have been approached and have strongly opposed the idea to OKC management.

Consider it one of the first acts once the Sonics come back.

no Seattle owns the history and name of the "Sonics" Kings will be extinct after this year

Cool :salute:

the glove definitely should have his sonics jersey retired. it would have looked strange if it were in the thunders rafters.

I came up in Portland, Oregon- I was collecting basketball cards and a little kid when Payton got drafted. But I remember the stories about him balling out against the 90's Blazers players during the summer. And those dudes were no jokes- Drexler, Porter, young Uncle Cliff- but Gary was playing with them in the Beaverton, OR Nike gym even before he was pro and he destroying dudes. I know he is known now mostly as "The Glove"- and he was a superior defender- but Payton was amazing on offensive as well. He did it all.
