Not really. I mean, if I were to pinpoint what's bad about either show I wouldn't go to the authority figures immediately. They might not be totally welcomed but they're not "killing" anything

The way Regal is used on NXT is how you should use GM's if you insist on using the dated concept. When he appears you know shyt has gotten out of hand or that something needs to be made official.

The commentators should be the ones to introduce, carry and flow the show and the wrestlers should be interacting with one another or being interviewed backstage not having talks with the office all night

D-Bry and Regal i have no problems with. Foley on the other hand they got intertwined with Steph and HHH fukkery which pretty much ruined him in my eyes. Even Foley knows it which is probably why last night he said "If this don'twork out I'm back on the couch...."

I'm sick of the whole authority figure in wrestling. We shouldn't be seeing the commissioner/president/general manager/etc on the show unless it's something like Jack Tunney in the 80's and Gorilla Monsoon in the 90's. 2-3 times a year tops.
Hell even Sgt Slaughter wasn't on the show week after during the early part of the attitude era when DX was on there bullshyt. The whole authority figure is just a lazy clutch at this point when they can't think of anything creative which is what they get paid to do. It would be refreshing to have one show without Mick/Steph Shane/Bryan they don't anything to the show. The horrible soap opera acting from Mick/Steph and Bryan/Shane are just :russell:as the super nice face duo. When Bryan is on Talking Smack he acts kinda like a douche but Smackdown nope

the people saying that the GM's aren't killing the show... consider that the GM's actually get more screen time on a weekly basis than every wrestler on the show. to me that's a huge problem.

they're involved in every storyline, they make every match. they make every stipulation, they dictate who gets to compete for the title, they change the outcomes of matches whenever they want...

shyt ain't good.
