Left Brookhaven to move into the space where Front Page News closed down...and now this. Familiar story, expanded to locations all over and the food and service both suffered.

Hudson Grille Little Five Points Closing, Property Listed For Sale

The Little Five Points location of Hudson Grille is closing after just over six years in business. The restaurant, located at 351 Moreland Avenue, occupied about half of a building that previously housed Tijuana Garage and Front Page News which closed in December 2018 and December 2019 after fifteen and nineteen years in business, respectively.

Sources close to the restaurant indicate that Hudson Grille's last day in business in Little Five Points will be Tuesday March 31. No reason has been provided for the closure, and its closure less than 100 days before the World Cup with its expected tens of thousands of local and visiting fans is more than a little surprising.

In related news, Danny Glusman with Widespread Commercial Group is actively marketing the Hudson Grille property for sale. Officially 351–361 Moreland Avenue, the property includes the 23,510 square foot mixed-use building (of which Hudson Grille currently occupies only a portion) on a parcel that is approximately 0.80 acres. The two-story structure includes established restaurant infrastructure on the ground floor and second-level office/flex space. The property is currently zoned NC-1 (City of Atlanta) and includes approximately 44 onsite parking spaces.

The asking price is $6.5M.

The Hudson Grille on Peachtree Road in Brookhaven previously closed in March 2020 and was later renovated into a nontraditional Chick-fil-A. Hudson Grille's parent company, Atlanta-based Metrotainment Cafes, has previously closed several other concepts around metro Atlanta including Einstein's and Joe's on Juniper in Midtown, Cowtippers in Piedmont Heights, Sugar Shack in Brookhaven, and its Garrison's Broiler & Tap concept with locations in Dunwoody, Vinings, and Johns Creek.

Following its Little Five Points closure, Hudson Grille will continue to operate five locations: Midtown, Downtown, Sandy Springs, Kennesaw, and Tucker.

The Cosm dome at Atlanta’s Centennial Yards will open June 10, timed with Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals as the venue’s first ticketed event.

Vanderlyn, at first slated for closure, may be turned into an annex or a ninth grade academy for Dunwoody High School.

After the meeting, Richter said the proposed plan to convert Vanderlyn to a facility that supports DHS was that of “utilization for an overtaxed Dunwoody High School.”

“This is an opportunity to invest in the [DHS] campus by adding capacity,” Richter said.

The report projects that Dunwoody, which is already over capacity by about 500 students, will have a population of more than 2,000 students in 2030, compared to today’s enrollment of about 1,900.

A few years back, Dunwoody planned to return Peachtree middle into a high school again. That was clearly seen as an attempt to enable Dunwoody to form its own school district, like Decatur, and was shot down.

Now the plan is to promote Sequoyah middle eventually.

Georgia Senate passes bill requiring governor to ask government to put Peach State on Atlantic Time

The time zone swap still faces quite a few hurdles.

ATLANTA — Georgia has long had a law passed on the books that would adopt Daylight Saving Time permanently, but since that requires an act of Congress to authorize — and Congress repeatedly fails to take such an act — state lawmakers have decided to try a little workaround.
On Monday, the Georgia Senate passed by a 45-5 vote a bill that would require the governor to ask the U.S. Transportation Secretary to place the Peach State in the Atlantic Time Zone, a lightly-populated zone that includes some a slice of easternmost Canada and parts of the Caribbean, including Bermuda, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

Devils in the details. Bolded emphasis mine.

Elections bill passes in Georgia Senate

ATLANTA — Weeks after a similar elections bill failed on Crossover Day, a so-called zombie bill passed the Senate on Friday along party lines.

The bill, also sponsored by state Sen. Greg Dolezal, R-Cumming, is similar to the earlier bill but with a few major changes.

The new version does not create county early voting districts, so countywide early voting remains.

It also reduces some fines associated with registration failures.

The bill still removes responsibility for recounts from the Secretary of State’s Office and places them under the prevue(sic) of the State Elections Board.

After the vote, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger criticized the bill, saying there is no funding for the changes and not enough time to implement them.

The legislation now heads over to the House.

Election officials previously voiced concerns over the earlier version of the bill, saying it could create problems in an election year.

It would require new machines and new training that officials warn could create problems on Election Day. The legislation would require hand-marked paper ballots.

big change in mornings at Cumulus Media Classic Alternative “99X” 100.5 WNNX College Park/Atlanta as station original Leslie Fram has departed the station and traffic reporter Crash Clark rises to co-host alongside Steve Barnes.

Clark is on his fifth stint at the 99X brand starting in the original station’s early days in 1990s. He would return full-time in February 2025 after spending eleven years as a traffic reporter and anchor at WXIA-TV Atlanta.

On the morning show’s page, the station’s website says, “Originally founded in 1994 with a defining 10-year run on 99X, The Morning X returned in January 2023, reuniting original cast members Barnes and Leslie Fram. The reunion followed the historic comeback of The Original 99X itself just weeks prior. The team continues to evolve. Jimmy Baron occasionally joins in a recurring role, and as of February 2025, Crash Clark returned to provide full-time, real-time traffic. Following the exit of Leslie Fram in March of 2026, the award-winning show is now The Morning X with Barnes & Crash.”

Leslie Fram 99X WNNX CMTFram joined predecessor CHR “Power 99” WAPW as APD/morning co-host in 1990 and was part of every incarnation of the station’s morning show from the “99X” brand’s original launch in October 1992 until its demise in January 2008. She rose to Program Director in 1997 through the end of the station. She joined the reconstituted “99X” on 100.5 alongside her former co-host Barnes in February 2023. She would then serve as PD of Emmis AAA 101.9 WRXP New York before spending thirteen years as Senior Vice President of Music Strategy at CMT through October 2024. Fram then launched consulting collective FEMco (Fram Entertainment & Music) last April
