I always pick 2. The story is more intimate and relatable to me with the focus on brotherhood.

Has anyone seen The Godfather Sags

It's 1&2 in chronological order with deleted scenes that really flesh the story out.

In Godfather 2 there is a great moment of foreshadowing when Clemenza introduces young Vito to crime as a reward for hiding his guns. They break into a home and steal a red carpet, then newly born Santino is placed onto this stolen red carpet and starts crying anticipating his inevitable fate as a result of his father taking tentative steps into criminal life.

Yup also Fredo was sick with pneumonia as an infant. Implying he'll always be weak.

When vito had his first kill he holds Michael. Tells Michael he loves him very much. Foreshadow that Michael won't be able to avoid this life of crime.

Also pay attention to the music.

Sonny's theme: Mostly like the Godfather's theme but is not the same music, sounds so different as Sonny's ideals

Fredo's theme: Godfather's theme but childish and lower, Fredo acted like a child during all his live, he definitely won't become the Godfather

Michael's theme: Calm italian song and slowly all the instruments from the Godfather's theme are there, he is the successor

Apollonias death made him that way.

Michael gave zero fukks when that happened. He turned into the devil.
It's one thing to lose your wife from natural causes or an accident. It's another to lose your wife because she got blown up as a direct results of your actions when she was a civilian and should have never been a target either. That shyt would turn even the most kind hearted man into a monster.

My first mind is to say Part II:

1) The ending scene with all of them at the table for Vito's birthday is still a favorite. What always strikes me in that scene is Fredo is the only one to support Michael's decision to enlist. We also see Santino introducing his baby sister to the same man who he is going to have to lay hands on later and who will kill him in return.

2) Watching the story of how Vito came to America, built up what would become his family's legacy with his people in New York, and then get all the way back to Sicily and get revenge for his daddy, mama and brother was so sweet.

3) Watching Michael continue descending into the cold, ruthless man he was showing signs of being in Part I was fascinating, especially when it culminates in him having his own brother killed.

4) Seeing Michael interact with Tom Hagen and Fredo was always interesting; I always got the feeling they both might have been more intimidated by Michael than they ever were by Santino.

5) I think the best closing hit montage is still in Part I with Mo Green and the four families, followed by the Part III montage...but watching Rocco go on that suicide mission in the airport for Hyman Roth always makes me laugh.

6) Connie FINALLY coming off of that bullshyt when their mama died and coming on back home felt good...felt good to me, too, to watch her play Don (sort of) in Part III, though I know many people hate that installment of the story.

6) Lastly, a young Pacino and DeNiro in the same movie...very, very nice :noah:

Part I is always nice, though, because Santino is still alive, we get to see both civilian Michael and Don Michael Corleone and we get to go to Sicily and watch this man have a whole other life before he comes back home and starts another one lol.

Young Vito (Bobby DeNiro’s portrayal) is the coolest character I’ve seen on screen. From his demeanor to mannerisms and how he listens way more than talks; he gives a textbook lesson on the makings of a true boss

I remember that interaction when he had Fanucci step to him, and his demeanor actually slightly disarmed Fanucci, where you briefly see a slight look of confusion on his face.
