A little over a month ago, Stephen Curry was asked whether he had any doubt at all that his right ankle would be 100 percent by the start of training camp. He answered that he had no doubt at all.
Looks like he was right on the money.
Curry said on Twitter on Wednesday: “Finally got the go ahead to play some pickup with the squad today. Felt good to get back.”
What that no doubt means is that Curry played five-on-five with his Warriors’ teammates at the team’s downtown practice facility in Oakland.
Curry was in Oakland in mid-September and at the time said that the only thing he hadn’t been cleared to do was play five-on-five basketball. But he said his goal was to do that a week or two before training camp.
Apparently, Curry met his goal. Warriors training camp is set to begin on Oct. 2.
Last season Curry missed 40 of 66 games because of right ankle problems and didn't play after March 11.
Curry plays 5-on-5 for first time since March
