The Google Pay app is shutting down later this year

Google says Wallet is the way forward.

Google announces that it will shutdown its U.S.-based "Google Pay" app on June 4, 2024.

Users will lose the ability to view shopping deals in the app while also being unable to send, request, or receive money from friends through the P2P method.

Google is pushing users to utilize Wallet after the June 4 closure, which is a strategy it did in 2022 with load of other countries.

Google pay was terrible. It made me switch to cashspp. Google pay send was the best p2p out there.

the only new google product i've tried in over a decade is google bard/gemini . they killed too many products i invested my time in for me to care about what they offer. they killed notebook, wave, gTalk, rrs reader and they deleted hundreds of items in my youtube playlists before they merged youtube and google accounts. refusing to use their new products has made me avoid a lot of disappointment when they eventually killed them off.

Thats good for you. I used it for 10 years. Once i started using my pc for things other than porn i realized how shyt it is and how much of a cpu hog google is.

yeah i always keep the task manager open to kill off errant tabs or the GPU process if it exceeds 1GB
