One is privately funded and you can bankrupt away or consolidate (the one you asked for), the other is federally funded and you are stuck with until you pay it off (the one students asked for). But you said another poorly thought our gov't program, but the VA/military/defense budget is cool as long as you benefit from it. Libertarian INDEED.

This program is for people working in public service instead of going to the private sector. It's a program designed to keep qualified people running the country.

Are libertarians also opposed to Governments positioning themselves to hire the best people.

Similar programs used to exist to help attract teachers. Many have been gutted. Look at the current state of education.
