Deadline‘s Mike Fleming Jr. is reporting The Rock may be considered for another new acting role, with his name coming up in rumors for Universal’s new Wolf Man movie that would be part of the classic monsters revival at the studio.

In addition to reporting this, Deadline also announced Sony Pictures’ acquisition of Son of Shaolin, which will be produced by The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions. The project is based off an upcoming graphic novel, involving a Kung Fu story with Shaolin mythology and current issues for teens mixed in.

@R=G How successful do you think he would have been in MMA/UFC
As noted, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson appeared on the “UFC Unfiltered” podcast and below are some interview highlights. You can check out the entire podcast at this link.

On contemplating a move towards the UFC around 2004:

“There was a time there where I thought, man, I achieved everything I wanted to achieve in WWE, my movie career is floundering a little bit, what do I do? I was relatively still young, I think I was 34. I thought, oh well maybe UFC. Maybe I should do something like that.”

On how far he progressed with the idea:

“In my head, I felt like it was at least a two-year process for me to even get in the [Octagon], let alone the UFC. I wasn’t quite too sure what to do or what kind of people to put around me at the time, so the idea kind of fizzled out and I continued to stay on the path of movie making. Still a big fan and love the sport. But at one time, I did consider it.”

The Rock is starting his own YouTube channel called Seven Bucks Digital Studios, which will launch on July 18th.

The new channel will feature The Rock’s own videos, in addition to content from his Seven Bucks Productions and other contributors. You can watch the launch trailer, which was disguised as a supernatural action film called “Ascendance”

Another hating ass Punk lover...the Rock's performance in all his movies has always been critically praised which is why hes sitting pretty on top right now and most dependable names in Hollywood are not.

I'm only interested in Moana and the Fast series. I can count the movies with The Rock that I like with one hand.
I can count the movies that have came out over the last 5 years that was any real quality? They didnt make Avenger money...Rock carried Journey 2 and Race to Witch Mountain to being hits...youre too old to watch those? Cool. Same as me with any of trash Will Smith has butchered putting out over the last what? 13 years.

You can lie to yourself all you want, never even said Rock was bad actor you cock blower. I said if the movies was gonna be good or not. Rock being a good actor does not equate the overall movie being good. Sad your butt hurt over CM Punk promo for so many years.

Nah. When Rock's movies usually come out, I'm just like :coffee:. I think out of his 15+ acting career, the only real one that stands out to me is his performance in Pain and Gain. I do think he's got better after getting out of that Disney family film phase that he was in for a few years there.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has made The Hollywood Reporter’s 100 “Most Powerful People in Entertainment” list, coming in at #54. Johnson’s “Central Intelligence” co-star Kevin Hart is also on the list.

In related news, The Rock’s new movie “Central Intelligence” brought in another $18.4 million at the box office this weekend, and Entertainment Weekly noted the film “continues to overperform against expectations.” By the end of next week, the film is expected to reach the $100 million box office mark.

He went from being uncredited in Tyler Perry movie a few years back to one of the more powerful people in Hollywood. If the next 14 months go right he could be top 10. His rebirth is crazy started out with a bang then in his words his career was floundering and now he got his second wind.
