Yep. Carter still had that aura of being a football power in Texas before I left and that was in 2005. All based off that 1988 team and it's probably still the most talked about team in Texas HS sports history.

You graduated 2005? You went to Hulcy or Atwell?

My alma mater, Cordova High , east of Sacramento, had some beast squads , but I think the 1975 team is looked at one of the best ever.

2010 Grant High (Sacramento) was the best I've ever seen live but that roster got rattled by the injury bug.

@West Coast Avenger I remember seeing some of those Poly Guys at the state track meets in Sacto. :whoo: D. Rideaux and K. Kelly to name a few.

this is from an article about GOAT MI hs players:

1. Andre Rison, WR/RB/QB/TE/S/CB/P/K
, Northwestern (Flint) (1982-1985)He played an amazing eight different positions. ESPN National High School Football Player of the year (1984). A three time All-State selection named to Street & Smith’s 10-year All Anniversary team as a defensive back. An All-State prep point guard in basketball and still ranks as the school’s all-time assist leader with 636 dish-outs. Rison, Glen Rice, Jeff Grayer were the nucleus of a team in the mid-80’s that went 79-3 and was ranked #1 #2 in the country for several years by various national publications (includes a winning streak of 60 games). In 2009 the basketball dynasty was inducted into The Greater Flint Sports Hall Of Fame. Rison went on to have 12-year NFL career that included helping the Green Bay Packers win the 1997 Super Bowl.
