I've been with my GF for 10 years. Before the marriage questions come up, its already planned. We're both in school and already set on getting married after we finish. Marriage would actually hurt our financial aid lol or we would of gotten married sooner.

Two married black engineers with no kids and enjoying life. #blackexcellence :blessed: We'll have kids once we live the life for a few years after school and get settled.

We always take pride in the fact that we've been together longer and doing better than a lot of married couples. At this point, marriage is just a formality on paper given how long we've been together.

Respect the good & understand the bad
My husband and I just celebrated our one year anniversary. He does so much for me, and he's always supportive/encouraging. He's incredibly hardworking, and I can't wait to have his children and see what an amazing father he'll be :-).

Congratulations!

This is a nice, feel good thread. Good stuff. :obama:

Yup, and there's no reason that there can't be more of them either.

Never finished telling my story on why I was throwing in the towel for relationships, but I'll say that this thread is encouraging. I'm not sure about marriage but I do want something long term, I just need to learn to trust again

A positive, life long partnership is just as good as a marriage in my book :obama: There's good people still out there, they're just not where most people are looking.
