Yeah. I bought most of their stuff and had multiples because I was caught in the hype like everyone else. But really, Spawn was entertaining as well as Savage Dragon, but beyond that The Maxx was as good as it got with them and that’s not saying much.

Yep.

Spawn’s look was a ripoff of the Prowler. The Youngbloods were a bootleg X-Factor. Etc.

Stormwatch evolved into something good down the road. Battalion was that nikka... super powerful black leader of a multinational task force .

:obama:

And of course he was banging the pawg second in command :wow:

Liefeld was a complete social jerk at times, reportedly.
Yet he revolutionized new mutants and created xforce and is the guy as a teen.
Whom at the time being a younger teen myself. trying to get into comics way before comic school during high school. Liefeld was a young artist who made it and was influential for me.
when i first started to learn to be a penciler.
Later when I went to comic school and guys ragged on liefeld. I still appreciated that liefeld was a definite influence. Being the youngest next pro hopeful in my comic book school class.
I never committed to the liefeld bashing. as far as showing I could do it in my teenage years professionally and before the workload was too heavy during college. I was a pro penciler out of comic school and had a penciling assignment on this book called gwyren.
Real talk,....i would have never known it was possible if I never had new mutants 86 & 87 to start.

shyt liefeld actually shared or reshared a photo I found of him online too. So, I kinda know about people's gripes about liefeld. Yet before I socially knew anyone in comics. Liefeld was important for me as a teen penciler. to know I could possibly do my dream of pencil comics at a young age too.
If not for liefeld,....
I don't have any way of knowing penciling comics professionally as a teenager is a real reality.
