Gordon is restricted, and to many he's the #1 free agent available. Yes, he's gonna get a major offer from someone. Gordon even looks forward to it, so he's gonna get every cent he can get.

As for Dwight, NO's not gonna entertain anything Dwight related without a contract extension. Now if Brooklyn had the #1 pick, this would go down, but New Orleans wouldn't trade Davis for Dwight Howard, especially if he doesn't sign an extension. That's what makes your scenario unrealistic. They're clearly looking to build with youth, a core of Davis, Gordon, the #10 pick, and build up that way. Besides, the team's already moving forward with marketing plans involving Davis. They clearly want him and no one else.

They are just being smart. They have young talent coming in and they are clearing up cap space. If Davis is what he's hyped to be and they get something good at 10 and use that cap space wisely they will be a problem in a couple years.

This trade has me thinking theyre trying to make a BIG Free Agent or trade splash. NOW what if: theyre thinking of getting Deron AND Dwight? After they amnesty Rashard theyre going to have 48 mil in cap room. Rumors are going around Dwight would like to get traded on draft day, you give Orlando the number 1 pick and thats it and you got Dwight. Now you have a franchise player that can go recruit. But meanwhile you re-sign Gordon and give him 7-8 mil a year for maybe 4 years leaving you with about 17 mil to sign Deron. Then they still have about 3 mil in cap that they can use on a guy like Marcus Camby and there you have it. Oh shyt I forgot theyd still have the 10 pick.
