Also keep in mind who the director of the movie was. Kenneth Brannagh has a history of doing color blind casting in his films. Going all the way back to him casting Denzel Washington as Don Pedro in "Much Ado About Nothing"

He's just as smart as Tony Stark

He's Richer than Tony Stark

He's just as good of a fighter as Captain America

People got mad about an Asian girl playing an Asian character in the Harry Potter films.....But then look at all the excuses people were making for shyt like The Last Airbender and Dragonball Evolution...

at the end of the day they just want the bare minimum number of token black background characters (1 or maybe 2... but only if the 1st one dies or disappears) to con casual black audiences to spend money on their movies.

like i see what you said about the director and perhaps it was just coincidence, but the way i saw it was that they knew black muthafukkas weren't gonna watch no damn thor so they figured lets get stringer bell in there as a marketing strategy... same idea with that asian guy... now i still aint watch that bullshyt but i was neither upset nor 'flattered' () at what i felt they were tryna do.

i just understand that if it isn't a black owned studio or popular black figurehead (like wesley was at the time) coming up with their own original characters or taking creative control of the white owned (Marvel/DC) black characters, that i don't expect anything other than black characters stuck in developmental hell or getting the short end of the stick... or the funny moments of outrage when white execs try to pick and choose the least 'controversial' character to turn black so to get 'us' to watch their shyt without pissing off too many white nerds in the process.
