While I don't have any specific teams I will be rooting for per se, in accordance with the #Inherently Edict, section 40 line 80 of the Coli constitution, I will be rooting against any and all African teams

Where's the option for 'my country win or lose'? That poll is giving me 'I will never cheer on the Williams sisters, I'll cheer (insert random European girl or rare Asian girl) from X country instead' anti-American vibes.

I guess this is a clean way to separate the immigrants and the Mexicans from the Americans :yeshrug: like the Williams sisters are a clean way to separate the bigots from everyone else.

Being a Black American and not supporting the USA because of slavery or other reasons should be independent of the World Cup, its not a sports issue. What have Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon or Cote de VWAAHHHH done for you brehs?
But it's not independent of the World Cup, that team is repping that same symbol of oppression. Rootin for the cac team is c00ning. Sure, they have a coupla black players, but they're playing for a cac symbol. The usa flag does not symbolize people of color, it symbolizes filthy cacs.
I'm rooting for America. I don't follow soccer and don't have my parents country in the tourney. Our people's ain't big into soccer. But I aim excited to see the marquee teams and players and just the excitement since I rarely watch the sport. Messi, ronaldo, drogba, all the big stars. Should be exciting, hopefully the games I get to watch. Off on Thursday, thankfully.
You're Cuban, right? U support them in the WBC?
We made it to the round of 16 the past two WC's and i enjoy Bradley's midfield brilliance
Team CAC (usa) got bounced in the group stage in 2006

Ur right but 2 out of the last 3 they made it out of their group and should of made it to the semis if not for bad refereeing in 2002

Clearly not an intentional handball, his arm does not move before it hits him.

If it was called, there's no guarantee that the US would have scored on the PK (though very likely), and if they had scored, that only ties the game, there's nothing to say that the US would have gone on to win for sure.

That said, no matter what your team, sometimes these calls go against you, sometimes for you. In the end it largely evens out for everyone. Most people just seem to remember the former and not the latter.

While I agree with ur last line the rest I don't. Any hand ball that prevents a goal is against the rules regardless if it's intentional or not. And who's to say the US wouldn't have won? They played evenly if not slightly better that game. That Germany team wasn't even all that great tbh

The lack of an option for Americans who are going to cheer for the US is an agenda, even in jest.

Anyway, I don't know how better to put it. When a bunch of Mexicans born in the US cheer on Mexico in a Mexico versus US soccer match, it's the same (to me) as a bunch of CACs cheering on any white bytch or white-enough bytch over the Williams sisters in an X versus US tennis match. :manny:

I see folks saying that they're going to be cheering for such and such over the Americans because their family is from X -- that's an immigrant tell. It's not quite the same as saying you'll be cheering for both the Americans and for country X, because that's where your people are originally from.

The latter is American first. The former is X first. I do see some people's reasons for being X first, and I empathize; that just isn't where I am right now. If the American team has a history of doing something crappy or bigotted or whatever while hosting others or being guests in other's stadiums, let me know.

Right now, though, this just looks like using Soccer as a safe way to take shots at the World's Lone Superpower.

Don't sleep on Colombia. I had the :ohhh: when I saw the team they put out against England.

It's 90% black. A good number look pure African and pretty much everyone else looks like Thriller era :mj:. It's Black Excellence out there. Being without Falcao is a weakness no doubt but at least they won't have a white saviour.

Ghana (parents) then W. African countries then Colombia then England.

Ramires and Fernandinho are really the only black ones breh.

Perhaps you should do your research about Brazil as a country and their definitions of skin color.

Alves is definitely seen as a cac, Neymar would never have been heralded as Brazil's golden child as a black man, Marcelo is light skinned, Hulk's hair rules him out of any black stakes.
Alves got a banana thrown at him, he black. Marcelo black. Neymar black too. We drawing the line at Hulk though.

But it's not as thorough as in previous years agreed.

In 2002, unintentional handballs were not against the rules. Who's to say they would have won? Germany was better, they made the Final. Besides, in the previous round, the u.s. benefitted from a no-call, so they shouldn't have been in the quarterfinals to begin with.

Breh, there's a saying that gets reiterated here, especially in Higher Learning: Your race is your nation.

That's why cacs will root for European cacs over the Williams sisters. They do not care. Cacs were also rooting for Canelo Alvarez over Pretty Boy Floyd. They don't care where the person is from, they will root for people who look like them. All races do this, It is natural.

If your neighbor is a cac, and he's gonna fight your cousin who lives in Africa, who are you rooting for? Your neighbor just because he lives near you? Or your flesh and blood?

If you are black, the black teams carry your genes, breh. They are your extended family. Team usa is mostly cacs, and their fans are 99.9% cacs and corny af. Countries come and go,depending on who wins what war. But your race will ALWAYS be a part of you. Root for those who look like you, forget arbitrary lines that were made up by cacs. Remember that usa only exists because cacs stole land from the natives, and bolstered its economy off the sweat of the black man.

I'm Canadian but I always ride with the US in soccer :yeshrug:

We never make it to the World Cup plus everyone tries to hate on the US so it makes it more fun to cheer for them

Co-sign.

Won't be as fun as last year when they were in the same group as England but I'm definitely looking forward to the hate that will be spewed in my direction while walking around in a Clint Dempsey jersey.

I mean I'll root for them if they playing but honestly I'm usa first. Never been to Cuba and don't really have family over there I talk to. Everyone is out here. Family small anyways. I'm glad to see Puig doing good and all but I lean more towards US. Guess never being there and not having family I talk to there has made me Americanized. Only thing is I know the language and eat the food. I couldn't name one current player on their team. :manny:
