There are conflicting views in this thread on whether or not Heller was really fukking over all of them and Cube was the smart one for telling him to go to hell. This is the story I've ALWAYS read to be true. Are there inaccuracies in this story?

Was Eazy at ALL cool enough with Cube and Dre to be talking about a full on NWA reunion before his diagnosis or was that just "movie magic"?

I've always read that Suge did indeed go with some of his goons to "secure" Dre's release from his NWA contract. If Eazy didn't get hands out on him then who did?

I read up some more and from what one article said, Cube and Dre WERE getting paid but the deal they signed wasn't necessarily reflective of their contributions. Cube made 32k in 89 but was living at home with his parents and shyt, after writing the hits and performing on the world tour. One of the third party publicists during that time mentioned that Dre was so valuable that Heller and Eazy should've tore up the OH contracts and renegotiated to take care of him.

Also there was an interesting article that said that Cube and Dre didn't understand that it takes awhile for artists to recoup, so Cube didn't see the majority of his money until 2-3 years down the line but that it equates to millions.


My thing is this

Dre dumped Heller
Eazy dumped Heller

Where there's smoke there's fire. All three of them had issues with Heller that came down to money and all three of them feeling as if they'd gotten jerked. Cube has NEVER deviated from his stance that he wasn't properly compensated.

Again, as a student of the culture. I really like researching and getting as much of the "real story" as possible. It just looks to me from what everyone is saying that Heller wasn't necessarily "stealing" from a legal standpoint, but the finances didn't match the actual value of Cube/Dre

a lot of people just have more of a vested interest in the mid-90s on out, so theyre not as critical about the way the earlier years were portrayed. but the earlier parts of the movie are garbage as well.

all I can say is that michel'le movie couldn't have dropped at a better time. karma didn't wait to catch up to dr dre. and just think, all of that could've been avoided if they simply gave michel'le some shine.
