The inaccuracy of the second half of Straight Outta Compton keeps the movie from being a classic.

What exactly did they get wrong?
You don't the history of NWA do you:ufdup:. The whole 2Pac scene was very inaccurate, Dre also got arrested outside of his house and not on the freeway. Eazy acting like a groupie when he was talking to Dre was wrong, and them leaving out the success Ren & Yella had after NWA was bullshyt as well. This is what happens when you let cacs tell your story. The reason the 1st half was great was because it was NWA telling the story, the second was the writers improvising.

Yeah its a shame the 2nd half is such a disgrace because the first half is ducking flawless.

Once they start playing fast and loose with the timelines and shyt it falls apart.

They tried to do way too much. And dre's portrayal was straight up insulting to any hip hop fans intelligence.
That's the downfall for a lot of biopics. The backstory and shyt is always awesome but once they start covering the more well known stuff shyt just turns into a clip show

It's not as bad as Notorious, though. Notorious was so hokey I'm pretty sure like 80% of it is :duck: lmao

I'm probably gonna sound crazy , but for the label with all that you said PLUS the NWA and the beginning of,Bones catalog, $40 Mill ain't shyt. Someting was, obviously wrong

Death Row only dropped The Chronic, Doggystyle and Murda Was the Case when Eazy was alive. Those albums were big, but 2x platinum big. He was receiving royalties off those albums, so 40M is about right.

dre ain't do it like that...:comeon:

of course it didn't happen like that but did you want them to show him thinking up a name and then going through legal troubles because of Black Market Records (who had Brotha Lynch Hung) it's a movie, it's supposed to be entertaining and it has to wrap up 10-20 years in 2-3 hours

shyt, Ren went platinum and gold

You'd never know it just by going off the movie though :francis:
