For those unaware of what I'm referring to, this is the second disc of Mobb Deep's 2014 album entitled 'The Infamous Mobb Deep'.

The first disc is their actual new music, but the second disc is dedicated to recordings from the 1994 sessions they did in their makings of The Infamous album a year later.

I'll just run through a few of the tracks and how they're similar/different to the final product:

Eye for an Eye: different beat to the final version, and different verses used by both Prodigy and Havoc. Raekwon also does a different verse and Ghostface Killah features on the track. Nas' verse remains the same. I prefer the real version over this one.

Get it in Blood: a song that didn't make The Infamous. Very sick beat. I don't know if I would want this on the album, but I wouldn't complain.

Gimme the Goods: I know Prodigy has the same verse as he does on Give Up the Goods, but idk about Havoc. Noyd has a different verse, and the beat is different, but definitely worse than that on the actual album. I'm happy they stayed with Give Up the Goods, but this is still nice.

If It's Alright: Best song on the album imo. I wish they found a way to put this towards the end of the The Infamous, but then again, Party's Over is one of the best closing tracks ever. Prodigy's verse on this :whew:

Survival of the Fittest: same song as the original, but with a far inferior beat tbh. Good thing they stayed with what they had on The Infamous, one of the GOAT songs.

Temperature's Rising: almost as good as the actual track on The Infamous. Different hook slightly as well as a slightly altered beat. Everything else remains. I wouldn't replace the original with this though.

The Bridge: One of my favourite Noyd verses ever is on this track. Completely new, not to be found on the actual album. It doesn't do much for me however, so I don't think it should be on the album.

The Money/Money version 2: neither of these songs would make The Infamous for me, but they're really good, especially the second version, it has a better beat.

We About to Get Hectic: name is a giveaway somewhat, but it's the original of Q.U. - Hectic. I don't think this is as good as Q.U., but that's down to the beat. There is also a Twin Gambino feature, but previous versions of this track had even more features, including Noyd, Gotti, Nitty etc.

The Infamous: the title track that never made the actual album. The Havoc verse sounds mad familiar but I can't remember which track it belongs to on the album. If someone remembers, please let me know. This is close to deserving a spot on the album, but I wouldn't have it replace anything. One of the better tracks on this CD.

--------------------------------------

Overall if y'all are Mobb Deep fans and haven't heard this, it's a must listen. Not only is it amazing how GOAT their spare material is, but I think they did an excellent decision in actually not putting these tracks on The Infamous, because they saved their best material for that album. If it's one thing I'm bummed about, it's not having If It's Alright on the album. That song is :lawd:.

Thoughts on this CD? Would you want any tracks from here to be added to The Infamous as extra tracks or to replace something else?

Gonna tag @mobbinfms, the resident Mobb stan lol. Interested on your take bruh.

I rated that version of Survival of Fittest highly though ... beat was sick and it made the track fresh again for a while

both these tracks should have made the infamous imo.

the first verse from prodigy on Get It In Blood :whew::ohhh::ahh:

co-sign on the Prodigy verse. But I wasn't really feeling the beats on either of the Moneys tbh. Even if they're good tracks, idk where to put them. Where would you put the track on the actual album? Would it replace another?
