I snooped around CACy-data forums political section for the first time since I got suspended from there over a year ago for calling cacs racist. There's like one black person talking about ADOS in an accurate light. There are a few other people there that claim to be black that are tap dancing. :mjlol:A year or two ago I was talking about reparations over there arguing with cacs and the only thing they could do is argue that they felt the logistics of reparations would be too difficult. :pachaha:

:whoa: Let's focus on this. Seren is our very own. :salute:

I don't see the problem. I just stated some facts about Yvette Carnell. I see many people act like she just popped up on the scene spitting pro-AA Black political rhetoric in 2017, or that she just copied Seren when she actually started making videos years ago- no later than 2015. And that's not right! So I had to point that out.

Either way it's excellent that there's multiple speakers spreading awareness of these much-neglected pro-AA messages from different perspectives - something that is sorely lacking in mainstream media.

I know, sis. :therethere: So did I. We all did, even Yvette. I actually got banned from a bw board I'd been on since 2008. I put in work there, a decade of essays and footnotes and convincing other bp, and us, to respect us. And they threw me away like trash.
That's how it goes when you're a thought leader. Expect to be ahead of the trend. You can't fault them for you being ahead, somebody always gotta be first. :francis:

Haha yo I remember around a year ago she and her pro-AA movement used to get dissed on Lipstickalley like crazy! Those girls used to call her too misogynist (WTF), light-skinned, bi-racial and all kinds of petty colorist garbage. I browsed that site recently and now I see all this pro-ADOS and Yvette Carnell messages! :ohhh:

shyt DONE CHANGED!! :lolbron:

Ngl, I was a tad concerned when I saw how many different acronyms there were, say, 6 months ago. Now Tariq done invented 'Foundational blacks'. :heh: But in a way, it's good bc all the different acronyms sort of give a pedigree as to how you reached the conclusion that we, whatever we call ourselves, need to call ourselves something, designate ourselves as something, advocate for ourselves as a group apart.

100% agree with your last paragraph.

@Stacker Pentecost @Riryoku

I didn't mean to create a who was first type thing. I don't even think Yvette or Stacker watch each other's videos enough to know what both of them are talking about. And even when the ADOS movement came, Stacker been building an ethnic consciousness with her audience to point where she didn't pivot like 20 other Black Youtubers that talk about ethnicity and immigration. Everybody jumping on the train but Stacker been on board.

Yvette videos are about policy. The type of stuff people over 30 talk about.

Stacker's video are about representation, expression and culture. The kind of stuff people in their 20s talk about.

Stacker is a leftist (I think).

Yvette is a complete ethnic nationalist, who at this stage of her political consciousness, don't care about right/left distinctions.

I wouldn't consider either of them anti-immigrant but they both stress the consequences of Black immigration to the USA and ethnic mimicry (not assimilation because assimilation is something different) one talks about culture and the other talks about policy.

Admittedly I over-simplified Yvette's stance on immigrants for the sake of brevity. I wouldn't call her purely anti-immigrant or even prejudiced. She does even have foreign allies after all.

I agree that they have some differing independent views. You said that Seren started before Tone and Yvette, but I posted a video from Yvette from way back in 2015. And I'm saying that Yvette is not some newcomer either she''s been doing it since at least 2015 at the latest. I'm not saying that anybody copied each other or that sort. Just pointing that out
‘Does Race Matter In Voice Acting?’ was my first video discussing racial/ethnic differences and the need for authenticity and it’s from November 13, 2015.

ws5hly.jpg

I first used the term ‘Black American’ as a specific ethnic term in 2017.

I started using DACS in late 2017 and wrote about it in 2018.

The New Blackface – Riot Material

I do my thing completely independent of Yvette. I have never ever said she *started* something or I *started* something except for the terminology. We use two different terms, we are on two different wavelengths, we have two different idealogies.

And I’m wouldn't say I’m anti-immigrant either... I just feel like we are different and got our own problems and need to be recognized as such. A prime example of what I mean when I say not all of us get behind Yvette’s beliefs. As @AlainLocke said, I have a different demographic and I have my own ideas. I don’t even watch Yvette’s videos, I’ve said multiple times her stuff is not for me.
"

I'm not saying that your views are not independently formulated, or that you or her are copying each other or whatever. @AlainLocke said that you spoke about these issues before Yvette and Tone but I just posted a Pro-AA Yvette video from SEPTEMBER 2015, so I pointed out that that might not be true. I understand that not everybody agrees with her beliefs. I'm not arguing that you have the completely same views or whatever..I just some pointed that Yvette is not some newcomer either

"I just don't want to get mired in who said what when." I hear you, I suppose it's not that important. I was trying to see when Yvette or Tone came up with ADOS out of curiosity and you know people are gonna start laying claims on the movement left and right lol, but I'm not gonna watch all Yvette's videos to find out I don't have time for all that lol

I actually like Seren's DACS better because's it's more specific to American DOS history. See a Caribbean in America might be like "I'm an American, and I'm a descendant of slaves, see I'm ADOS!:krs:" .............................:gucci:

I guess it's good that all these acronyms are floating around so society can get a broader and more accurate view of ADOS history that covers the flaws from any one term or designation .

"Now Tariq done invented 'Foundational blacks":russ: that nikka's twitter in 2019 is a spectacle to behold! He be interrogating those foreign blacks like he's The Riddler or some shyt like "What's up with that flag boy", "I know who your parents are......:steviej:

#ADOS is still the shyt though. I can't thank Yvette and Tone enough for spearheading the movement, spreading the political knowledge and data, and being extremely adept and influential on social media! shyt is literally snowballing right now. Everyday it's a new breakthrough it seems like. #ADOS #AAGANG we coming!!!

i'm voting for Kamala Harris regardless.

This is such a silly and intellectually bankrupt statement to make at such an early juncture in the Democratic run for the White House in 2020. If you're going to vote for her "regardless," why link an article that casts skepticism on her team's baseless contention that #AADOS is a movement spurred by Russian involvement? If your vote for her is locked, why do you concern yourself with any investigation of the #AADOS movement, its origins, the people who support it and how its legitimacy may impact the participation of AADOS - the most significant block of voters within the Democratic base - in 2020? :francis:

Kamala Harris is the only major presidential candidate that has gone on record saying she supports some type of reparations, but nah fukk her. :troll:

And Obama said he was going to protect the homeowners impacted by subprime mortgages and hold the banking community accountable. :troll:

I'm not into this habit of changing our identifier every couple of generations but I prefer 'Foundational Blacks' MUCH more than any variation of 'DOS' by light years

It gives our ancestors and our contribution to this country an esteem and regard that I just can't hear in a term like 'DOS'.

I like ADOS because the crime for which we deserve reparation is built right into the identifier.

Call ourselves 'foundational blacks' and they'll start using that for their 'bp were indentured servants' shyt. :wtb:

That's quite limb you're going out on :patrice: Do you think reparations hasn't happened yet because we haven't identified as slaves?

Do I think a discussion of reparations has been muted because white society has not fully acknowledged and taken responsibility for slavery and the devastating impact it has had and continues to have on African American Descendants of Slavery? Yes. :francis:
