:blessed:Copped a iphone 6 with my next upgrade. Only 32$ for taxes. Sold it for 900. Got a insurance claim for 199$(Got to wait a week or so. Obviously it's backordered)
Negged for being scum :pacspit:

Smdh. Yall crazy. Asurion doesn't do ANYTHING.

At&t will ban the imei IF the imei is already assigned to your account. When i bought this phone this was bought as a cross upgrade. Meaning the simcard in the iphone was never scanned. When the buyer bought the phone from me and activated it on his plan the iphone is treated as a retail bought iphone. Meaning the imei can only get banned if the OWNER OF THE ACCOUNT REPORTS IT.

I worked at at&t for over 2 years. I know how the game work nikkas. Why would i risk selling a phone to someone just for them to report me. THEY HAVE MY NUMBER. Lmfao.

What the fukk do yall think people with huge ass family plans do?? Wtf do yall think parents do when their kids need a upgrade but aren't upgrade eligible BUT THEY ARE?? Actually wait the 2 years for each upgrade? No they use each others upgrade and just swap the imei. Smdh.

Been doing this shyt since the iphone 4s. Get hip nikkas. NOT TO MENTION the buyer is going to unlock the phone anyway. Even if At&t did blacklist the imei it doesn't mean nothing IF THE SIMCARD ISN'T WITH AT&T.
Jesus fukking Christ you're retarded :snoop:

You just fukked the buyer over. The moment you reported the phone lost it was blacklisted you idiot. There's ONE LARGE POOL of blacklisted imei that ALL the carriers pull from. They have even gone so far as try to make that shyt international to go after the overseas black market. nikka worked at ATT for 2 years and still doesn't understand the fundamental differences between what a sim card does as opposed to an imei.

OMG i clearly understand how it works. You honestly think all these iphones on ebay and amazon being sold are from them paying full retail at apple???

It's nothing like that lol. Im not out here scamming the carrier. I still pay my bill every month like i always do. I simply used my insurance that i've been paying 6.99 for the past 5 years for another phone that at&t simply thinks i lost. Like i said i've been doing this shyt since the 4s fam.

I JUST TEXTED the dude i sold the phone too lmao. I would think if anything happened to his phone he would be cursing me the hell out.

I know you're not trying to get over on the carrier Im just trying to see what I can do to comeup. If I signed a plan with a carrier how much could I get the iphone 6 for? I would still plan on paying the bill all the way through...or is there a way I can get out of paying and still have the phone on? It looks like you got your phone through your insurance company and not the carrier am i right? How does that work?

I got my phone through a normal upgrade but did it as a cross upgrade since i told at&t this was a gift. Meaning the same imei from my galaxy s4 that i upgraded to a year ago is still the same imei thats associated with my account. Androids and Iphones use different data packages on at&t's system. Since the iphone was a gift they didn't activate the iphone 6 imei on my account.

When i sold the iphone he went to get it unlocked anyway. Meaning the imei NEVER got activated on at&t's network anyway(Wouldn't matter if it did though)

As far as your question goes I would assume if u stopped paying the bill they would blacklist the imei(There's way around this but with the iphone 6 being so new i don't expect it to be anywhere near user friendly for a couple of months at least) But if you got a brand new plan i know all of them have this "jump" plan or "next" as At&t calls it. You just pay the taxes for the phone and pay anywhere between 18-32$ extra a month on top of your plan for however many months you sign up for.

The only way to do what i did is for them to never activate the imei on your account in the first place. Activating a brand new account i dont think there's anyway around this.

No. You're free to do whatever you like with the device just as long as you keep paying the bill for the duration of the contract. It would be silly to think all those devices have been fully paid for since 99% of them have been bought subsidized. If you report the device lost or stolen the imei gets blacklisted regardless of what account it was or wasn't activated under. It has nothing to do with the sim card. There's no loophole, someone is gonna eat that phone. You think ATT iphone imei numbers only get put in the system WHEN the phone is activated? Riddle me this, during the claims process, did you not have to provide imei number of the device?

Hold up so if I buy an iphone on account its completely legal to then resell it so long as I continue to pay for it through the length of the contract? so essentially it could just be used as a loan?

As long as the account remains open, yes. As long as you keep paying for the bill, or you pay off the ETF you can do whatever you want with the device. The moment you stop paying though, you or whoever is currently using the device is fukked. This is a lot more simple with GSM carriers[ATT, T-Mobile], since a sim card swap is all that's needed to change devices as opposed to CDMA carriers[Sprint and Verizon] which require you to call customer service.

Youre paying excessively a lot more doing this opposed to just buying the phone outright.

I feel sorry for the person who bought that phone from you because if u filed an insurance claim on it Asurion bought to put that bytch on the negative list :pachaha:

when the person tries to activate that iphone, won't they get the :whoa: from the phone company cuz it was reported stolen/missing? then it will come back to the threadstarter??

Stop it slime.

The sim card has nothing to do with the imei number. The imei is unique for the phone and has nothing to do with the carrier. So if you lose your phone the imei is blacklisted and your phone is useless.

There is no way around this.

They can't prove that he sold it but that imei on that phone is done so no one is gonna be able to use it once the insurance company puts it on a the negative list.

And u cannot file an insurance claim without providing the imei for the phone, even if u never activated it that information would be on the customer receipt you would have gotten with the phone so I'm calling :duck: on the OP saying he filed a claim without an imei.

How exactly was the insurance company able to verify what kinda phone you had without an IMEI???
