Because of gerrymandering.
Doesnt explain the governors

I like this slow admission of defeat tho :frommido:

Hmm, that's pretty vague. Where/when exactly has this "democratic rule" existed? Also you seem to be ignoring that over the last decade Republicans have made it a point to:
1. Systemically prevent black/brown people voting and/or minimize the impact when they do vote.
2. Ignore or reject any race based solutions to systemic inequities.

Democratic rule = many if not most of the few Democratic districts left. Black people are either still poor or getting gentrified out, and our goofy ass congresspeople + president have done jack shyt to stop it.

You cant blame Republicans for everything. Republicans have demonstrated parties can make huge strides if they put their minds to it.... Dems have just spent the last 8 yrs riding Obama's coat tails.

Mad about what? Your projections don't make sense

And yet you can't specifically counter them.:stopitslime: Trump having a "different strategy" for a popular vote election is not a counter btw. :leostare:
For example specifically address how Trump would be able to offset Hillary's huge advantages in CA or NY without sacrificing his razor thing margins in the rust belt?

Winning elections is not the same as making huge strides for the people though.

I'm not sure you really have the correlation there. Take NC and Vermont both swapped Governor by party but their presidential vote went in the other direction. I think it will take more cycles to gain a closer pictures on that. Was it the result of incumbents moving on vs incumbents losing.

However in NC, we know that republicans have such a stranglehold on both state and federal races due to gerrymandering and voter ID laws. Many of these have been repealed and special elections are being held in a lot of states. I think this is a scenario where will we have to see what happens after the districts are set back and see how turnout goes.

This election hit on something else that's also been true and that's the surprisingly low voter turnout. Low turnout traditionally tends to hurt democratic voters. So like I saw before, we will see if that's a result of disinterest, voter suppression laws, policy, or the more educated liberal leaning younger generations moving away from home and on to the big cities or voters flipping.

If you really want to make your point you could grab voter registration from states that have changed/flipped and compare that to the election outcome. It's your point to prove.

Today, false symbolism is all. “Identity” is all. In 2016, Hillary Clinton stigmatised millions of voters as “a basket of deplorables, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it”. Her abuse was handed out at an LGBT rally as part of her cynical campaign to win over minorities by abusing a white mostly working-class majority

:mjcry:

Those poor poor white majority working-class.

State what you feel theyve done and we go from there. Im open to anything, because on a lot of shyt they're not looking too good. Anything outside of rhetoric will do

Fair Sentencing Act - Wikipedia

https://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/whitehouse.gov/files/images/MBK-2016-Progress-Report.pdf
Granted this is at least partly White House spin, haven't heard any criticisms of the program, but I'm sure there are some.

The Justice Department just shut down a huge asset forfeiture program

The 12 key highlights from the DOJ’s scathing Ferguson report
Granted this just a report and without any followup/action relatively meaningless, but I think it's an example of Obama appointing people to the Justice Department who understand the basic issues of systemic racism and the need to address. Yes, that's rhetoric to a degree, but I think it's still important.

Mind you I'm not some blind democratic loyalist who think's they're particularly interested in helping the black community. They're basically the lesser of two evils. We get stuck with incremental progress or going backwards with the Republicans. Dems have been better on criminal justice reform which was actually gaining bi-partisan support before Trump. Mixed bag on everything else. They at least seem open to the idea of race based solutions to systemic inequities. Republicans don't think systemic inequities exist.:comeon:
