The Jacobin on their :mjpls: anti black bullshyt

Touré Reed, author of Toward Freedom: The Case Against Race Reductionism, joins the show to discuss why elites have doubled down on identity and explains how we can combat race essentialism by understanding politics through a public-good framework.

The Jacobin Show airs every Wednesday at 6 PM ET and offers a socialist perspective on class and capitalism in the twenty-first century, the failures of liberalism, and the prospects of rebuilding a left labor movement in the US. The hosts are Jen Pan, Ariella Thornhill, and Paul Prescod.

Dude do you think he posted a 2 and a half hour video from them to try and make people become anti-black?

The Asian woman is using the word like a little too liberally for my taste.

Touré has the pronunciation of his name all over the video(too-Ray).

I can’t watch this

Not watching because I can’t stand those dudes but this brings up something I’ve been thinking about. I’m starting to think about the idea that there is an ideological union between multiple groups who view black men as a problem. The “POC” crowd, extreme black feminists (not all black feminists), and far leftists all have specific policy ideas that simply don’t work with black men in the picture.

I think we’re being viewed as a problem that needs a final solution.

No one on this board, regardless of our individual beliefs would argue against the fact that no sort of resistance can be made against White Supremacy in America until Black men are given the authority that are due to us as human beings. We're determined to assume the rights that are due to ourselves, our households and our communities. If anything, our drive for this is beyond that of the average non-Black person due to our history of subjugation/manipulation in the US and abroad.

The three groups you mentioned (far leftists, "POCs" and extreme black feminist) are essentially a single group from my understanding, and their core interests clearly are not in line with this fact one bit. They are all a part of the same Pepsi can cracking coalition that in reality desire a "seat at the table" of White Supremacy rather than dismantling it. That's not to say that there are Black men among those ranks (and outside of them) who have similar interests. But I'm speaking from an angle that's more relative than the dialogue that you and I are having. All in all, the interests of this group that's composed of the three you mentioned (and perhaps more than that) due not include the Black man because in reality, they're striving to be a part of the same system that needs to keep people like us out of it in order to maintain the status quo.

Their policy ideas wouldn't work at this point even if we weren't in the picture
