Wherever nikkas need to be told on
Kamasi ended up being my gateway into jazz. The Epic was my shyt.

Then I gave some of the big classics a chance like Coltrane’s Love Supreme and Miles’s Kind of Blue.

Then at some point I saw a Netflix doc on Lee Morgan. And docs on Coltrane and Miles.

And slowly but surely it just took off. Especially when I got my record player.

Artists like Art Blakey. Mingus. Herbie. Bill Evans. Pharoah Sanders. Alice Coltrane. Thelonious Monk. Joe Henderson. Wayne Shorter. Donald Byrd. Duke Ellington. Chick Corea.

Albums like the Black Saint and Lady Sinner. bytches Brew. Sidewinder. Katanga. Giant Steps. Saxophone Colossus. In A Silent Way. Something Else.

Songs like Tanya. Watermelon Man. Milestones. Stolen Moments. Cantaloupe Island. Stolen Moments. Welcome. Killer Joe.

And on and on and on and on. Beautiful classical music.
