Criticisms never stop at simply saying a player is trash on the field. It ALWAYS goes to a weird, personal place, primarily because most of those beat writers are just the same sad motherfukkers with an embarrassing parasocial relationship with their teams that make up almost their entire personality that are walking the street, just with a job that actual feeds said pathetic relationship.
