Let's be real though the nostalgia is what's keeping us from admitting this era was trash.

Examples? There are certified classics from the "jiggy era" that weren't "jiggy" or commercially popular at all. I don't see that in this era.

Shabazz Palaces (Black Up is ), the Odd Future cats (especially Earl), Blu, Roc Marciano and Killer Mike are making great music in this era in spite of the "swag" (Shiny Suit equivalent) dominance in the mainstream. Kendrick is that "saviour" crossover artist who appeals to hip hop purists and the mainstream.
