Why am I not surprised. The 2 cacs of The Coli teaming up.

You white boys get your feelings hurt cause I call out your race all the time?

Its gonna be funny to up this thread in a few months when Dobbs is the only rookie balling the fukk out during the REGULAR SEASON.
Nobodys feelings are hurt but yours. You're in here trying your hardest trying to explain away a very bad performance.

Everyone is just pointing out what they saw.

Like I said earlier all your hyperbole and trolling about dobbs was fun but its over now that ppl get to see him for the middling prospect that he is

Dobbs is an awful QB when it comes to consistency. Probably the most up and down notable QB from a play to play perspective in last year's draft. He can make just about every throw, but his decision making is just very bad and again, his ball placement can be great one day and repugnant the next (moreso repugnant). It's basically a thing for Dobbs where he mentally doesn't know what to do with the ball and where to put it often enough

What? He's the only rookie thus far to play against a first team defense. Let alone one as good as the Giants. What game were you watching?

Here's a little perspective for that shaky start:

(1) Dobbs is the only rookie thus far who played against a first team defense. The rest only played against backups thus far. And as you saw once he started playing the backups his play also picked up.

(2) Giants first team defense is really good. Lots of good starting QBs struggled against them last year.

(3) Steelers weren't babying him. If you saw Trubisky and Watson play, they had lots of roll-outs, half field reads, and threw mainly out of the shotgun. Dobbs on the other hand was under center mostly and wasn't doing a lot of roll outs and half field reads. Steelers had him running the full playbook. That shows how much further he is mentally than most rookies at this point.

(4) He did a great job overcoming adversity. Most rookie QBs would have folded after a start like that. But not Dobbs. He shook it off and made a bunch of really good plays the rest of the way. Both with his arm and his legs. A couple of his best plays not counting on the stat sheet because of drops and penalties.

All in all I was incredibly encouraged by his first start. He looked poised after the rough start. And he showed that duel threat ability that made him special in college.

Josh Dobbs will be a superstar in the NFL.
I agree with all except bolded.

I can see him being a starter in this league.

No. He'll be a back to back Super Bowl winning QB with 2 super bowl MVPs.

quote me.

So just so we're all clear. You are saying that within 3 years he will be a back to back Super Bowl winning QB with 2 Super Bowl MVPs?

Its fukkin game 1 preseason. Even if I agree with you that he was god awful, so what? This is like when Lonzo Ball played terribly in game 1 of summer league and you acted like it meant something. Its meaningless in the long run either way. Lonzo proved that over the next couple of games. And Dobbs will do the same. Once again it's only one game.

I'm just being honest with myself. The performance was very encouraging. I actually feel a lot BETTER about Dobbs today than I did before the game yesterday. Made me even more confident that he'll be a special player in the NFL. SPECIAL.

Yup.

I got a good feeling the Steelers win 2 of the next 3 superbowls. Big Ben is old and injury prone. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't make it to the end of this year.

So you're saying that's the only game you ever watched him play? I hope you know he played more games. And in most of those he was AMAZING. Here is Dobbs underrated college career by the numbers:

(1) He is 2nd all-time in Tennessee history to Peyton Manning for TD scored for a career.

(2) He's 3rd all-time in Tennessee history for total yards in a career.

(3) For his career, Dobbs averaged more yards per game and more TDs per game than Peyton Manning (who is #1 all-time in Tennessee history in both those categories). Just goes to show that if Dobbs played as many games as Manning did in his Tennessee career, Dobbs would be #1 in both those categories.

(4) In 2017, Dobbs broke Peyton Manning's school record for TDs in a season with 40 total TDs. He was also 9 yards short of breaking Peyton's record for total yards in a season. He also led Tennessee to a school record for points scored in a season.

(5) As a senior Dobbs led the SEC in QB Rating, passing TDs, and total TDs. He was also named SEC offensive player of the year by Athlon Sports.

He played more than one game in his career stupid. I would see you've had a pretty good career as a QB at Tennessee if you beat records set by Peyton Manning, one of the most celebrated college QBs of all-time.

Over his collegiate career, Dobbs was PHENOMENAL. The numbers bear that out.

I don't think he will ever be a top 8 qb

But I saw enough last night to see he can be a starter in two yrs

He has to add some weight & strength

He needs better command of the offense

He needs to build his own inner confidence. He needs to know he's the best player on the field (even if he's not).

Sorry, you dont get to use "its just one preseason game".

You have hyped this very flawed, mid-level prospect as the greatest professional sports player since Michael Jordan. You guaranteed that.

You said drafting Dobbs in the 2nd round would be a bigger steal than NE getting Brady in the 6th round.

You just guaranteed in this thread that he would win 2 of the next 3 SuperBowl MVPs :heh:

So when he plays like shyt in a preseason game you dont get to brush it off. The greatest professional sports prospect ever should look alot better than the flawed 4th round pick i watched yesterday
