He done already backtracked off of his stance of this being the greatest season ever and now moving on to 2018 as the season.

:russ::mjlol::pachaha::heh::laff::laff::laff::laff::laff:
He's locked himself into Dobbs winning two SB MVPs in the next three seasons.

Also, how is @Swagnificent talking about "preseason doesn't matter" when he made the Lonzo Ball summer league MVP thread?:mjlol:

Bro cmon you can't be serious. He is not that good.

He might not be that good individually. But stats are in large part a product of the talent you have around you. And he will be surrounded by incredible talent offensively. Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Le'Veon Bell, and James Conner are all ELITE talents. The offensive line is solid. All those guys will help him look as good as he'll next year.

2018 will be the breakout season.

Actually I was the guy that said summer league didn't matter after Lonzo had that terrible first game. Everyone clowning Lonzo after one game in summer league will look really stupid...

All I look for are skills when watching exhibition games. Stats are irrelevant. Lonzo's summer league stats were irrelevant to me. What I looked for was whether his skills would translate to when the real games were being played not what numbers he was putting up.

If Dobbs lit it up as a rookie, it would be a bad sign for his long-term prospects. Remember that most of the guys who look like gawds as rookies ends up as busts. RG3 was a beast as a rookie and flopped the rest of his career. Vince Young young was a beast as a rookie and then flopped. And finally, even Cam Newton has had overall a disappointing career after that incredible rookie year.

Compare that to Peyton Manning that threw a record number of INTs as a rookie. Or Tom Brady who was 3rd string as a rookie. Or Aaron Rodgers who was on the bench for 3 years.

Most of the all-time great QBs weren't all-time great from the jump. They typically blow up during their 2nd season NOT the rookie season.

The first ring will come in the 2018 season. That's all I'm locking myself into.

After that we'll take about where his career goes from there.
