because they are probably on scholarship for volleyball, which isn't a major sport. They could be dropped easily.
A few football players do this and the risk is far less of getting kicked off the team.

I work at a university and teach a number of athletes. I've heard a few mention it but I wish I could convince them to take a chance and do it. But believe it or not it's not the coaches who are the biggest influences, it is the parents who don't want their children to do anything to jeopardize that scholarship

And i said this early on that Colin and ppl willing to join him need to call out all everybody else cuz if you black and you aren't willing then you might be a c00n and if you're white and you aren't willing then you might be a racist. Let ppl show their true colors but don't stand out their alone to be picked off or disregarded. When it comes to racial matters it always seems like the majority will watch from the sidelines until shyt dies down and THAT is the problem. Hold ppl accountable, ask them to tell you and the rest of the country what they have against the message of protecting black people in this country. Solidarity is what made the civil rights era so great for blacks and we need that unity now and always if real change is to be made.
