Winning close games is not an edge, it's luck that will inevitably turn around at some point.

KC hasn't been a dominant team for a while now.
Feel like the Warriors went through the same thing once Klay got hurt and KD left, they were so used to making unforced errors then being bailed out by godlike 3 point runs they never became a fully disciplined team

There’s always a fan of a winning team “dumbfounded” by the officiating.

Why does that never fail?

Why is it hard for people to understand refs cook?

This is coming from a Lakers/Dodgers/Niner fan

KC won and started getting love. It’s okay to admit it.

It's the only way yall could cope with your shytty teams being shytty.

All these years and yall still can't explain why the NFL chose a flyover country city like Kansas City to be "helped" and not helped a franchise with a nationwide fanbase like Dallas.

I'm still waiting on a legitimate answer to this.
Parity.

The league wants the occasional dynasty but they also want some degree of parity.

Certain teams get favorable whistles but it's not a permanent thing. Philly's OL is good, but they hold more than ANYONE. Jalen stands back there writing doctoral dissertations.

Packers used to get a favorable whistle when they had Rodgers. His offensive line got away with murder.

Cowboys will get favorable whistles against certain teams (the Lions) but get called for all kinds of bullshyt against other teams. Every other kick/punt return they have ends in a flag for holding, block in the back etc. Jerry Jones figured out how to make $$$$ without being a championship contender every year. League doesn't need the Boys to be great...just competitive. So, they won't get favorable calls when it matters most in big games. Either a neutral whistle or lots of flags.

You can call holding on every play. Teams the NFL wants to push? Rarely get called unless it's extra egregious. They might call it when the game is out of reach but not when it matters. A team the NFL isn't pushing or a shytty team? They'll swallow the whistle until the bad team makes a good play and then immediately call it. If it's run 5 yard run with obvious holding...they won't call it. If it's a 15 yard run on 3rd & 9...."holding, #73 offense, 10 yard penalty, repeat 3rd down."

I'm an Eagles fan, so seeing Dallas celebrate their 30th year of irrelevancy is fantastic.
Dallas look like a Squad who would fukk up a Ref/ @Roger Goodell Blessing anyway:francis:

It's still too early to say they're dead.

They're definitely on the decline but they have injuries and time to get things back into shape.

And they play in the dumbest division in football so they have a chance to win it

Mahomes n Kelce getting old :flabbynsick: n they haven't found a go-to receiver as consistent as, lets face it,Tyreek Hill, to stay healthy or out of trouble under Andy Reid :hubie: that juice been gone and front office should been realized that since last year
shyt bruhs got all the accolades and chips in the front half of their careers. You don’t see that often. Now we got to say cats is :flabbynsick: At 30. Even though Kelce is actually old lol. I’m not going to say they’re done yet but they def got some problems to work out after that loss to Jacksonville

All their losses have been close. This is probably the year the Bills beat them in the playoffs, but if they get 10 or 11 wins and get hot at the right time they could go to another SB.
With the caveat that it's super early for every team, to make definitive declarations:

The Bills have not looked great, either. I don't at all trust that Buffalo will beat KC in a playoff game, unless the Bills start crushing teams. They don't crush anybody, and just like the Ravens, the burden of proof is on them.

They aren't the Chiefs or Eagles, who have been dominating their conference for years. The Bills aren't even the Rams or Niners, who have two Super Bowl appearances apiece in the last 8 years.

The benefit of doubt goes to the people who have shown me they can perform up to standard when it matters. The Niners haven't won a Super Bowl in 31 years, but in 8 complete seasons with this head coach (Shanahan), SF has 2x SB appearances and 4x NFCCG appearances. We know that coach with just competent QB play and health, has that franchise as a consistent contender.

Sean McDermott has been in Buffalo the exact same time as Shanahan has been in The Bay; he's had far more consistency at QB; and he's a defensive guy so in theory his defense should never be bad...

and he has no SB run, with an 0-2 AFCCG record...benefit of doubt does not go to him or anybody on his squad.

Note, I am not saying Buffalo can't win a SB or can't beat KC, I definitely think they "can".....but even with KC being an average team thus far, Buffalo hasn't given me any reason to pick them over KC yet.

The same burden of proof is on Detroit now to be honest, they don't have benefit of doubt the way they let the Skins walk into Ford Field and take their lunch last year....but at least the Lions are crushing the teams they are supposed to beat.

As for the Chiefs, they are way too undisciplined right now for me to take them as a serious Super Bowl contender. They are not in that bubble, so any tjought on them going on a run is based on reputation, its not nased on what I've seen on the field.

I respect em and I damn sure am not writing them off after only 5 games---->but this team is not even close to contender status yet. Their two wins are against the Giants and Ravens 🤣 come on, now. Bottom 6 teams in football, so congratulations, we know the Chiefs are not a Bottom 6 team 🤣 🤣

They are also not a Top 10 team. You can't lose to every playoff team you play (LA, Philly, Jax), at this point they are losing EVERY game vs the good teams.

Contenders don't lose EVERY game to good teams.

The Lions game this week will be another litmus test but even if they win its 3-3 and one signature win out of 4 attempts. They have a long way to go.

Last note, I always gotta add this, do not mistake this post as a pro-Niners post lmao. I like what they are doing right now but I'm originally from Sacramento which is 50/50 Niners and Raiders fandom, and I've always been waaaayyyyy more of a Raiders guy, fukk the Niners!
It's tough to be the top team in your conference year after year. I would say last year was definitely the worst year for them in the Mahomes era in terms of how they looked. I know they wont fifteen games, but they didn't look great.

They have not looked great this year, but it's only the start of the second week in October. Let's see how they look some mid-November. Let's see how they look when Rashee Rice is back. As of now, I still have them winning the AFC as I believe they will get it going.

In regards to the officiating and all of the conspiracy stuff.....that's absurd. EVERY team is going to get breaks and calls to go their way. It's more noticeable when it's a team that is always at or near the top of the NFL and has all eyes on them. People will be able to look for every little thing to complain about and say it's the officials. I will say that last year for the Chiefs was one of the more fortunate seasons I've seen for a team regarding breaks going their way, but you can't just put that on the officials. Great teams find a way to win.
Right now that same theory is out there for a lot of underperforming teams; the "let's see how they look when they get ______ back" caution.

The Chiefs have the credibility to give them blind faith, I'll concede that. And I agree eith everything else you said.

But other teams will also get key pieces back. Chiefs have to do a lot more than just play the good teams close, and beat up the bad teams, to win me over. They certainly have the ability to, but the lack of discipline can be a real undoing for them. They've never been this sloppy in all three phases at the same time----->those are characteristic of an average or bad football team. Not a heavyweight!
Penalties are a coaching issue. They were near the top of the league in penalties a couple years ago too. Also 30 is rough for non QBs. All 3 pillars of their run are 30, and obviously Pat is the only QB. Typical Fat Andy on Monday...running game working, team is leading, keep throwing :mjlol:.

All that said I dont see any team in the AFC that is capable of capatilizing. Kinda remind me of the Pats in 18. Only teams that they have to truly worry about are Philly (them nikkas always play up vs KC) and Detroit.
As we sit here today the AFC is wide open 🤣 the best teams have been the Colts, Bills, and Steelers, and all three are super beatable.

The fact that the best three are beatable, are why the Chiefs still have a shot. The Chiefs are gonna be fighting to even get in the playoffs though. Their chances are not much better than anyone else's, although in a one-off, sure I'd trust them over anyone else at the moment. They give on-field reasons to doubt them though, every time they play a good team.

Very interested to see how they perform vs Detroit. I definitely don't expect them to win. A close loss does them no favors at this juncture, they lose "close" to all the good teams.....this Lions game is a must win for KC.

100%.

Dynastic squads have to retool.

The early 00s Patriots were completely different from the later championship squads. Brady/Belichick were the only constants.

Mahomes will be fine but they need a soft rebuild. Kelce ain't got it and the WR room needs an upgrade. Imagine if Mahomes had AJ/Devonta, Lamb/Pickens etc.....

AFCW hasn't had a team strong enough to push KC until now with Denver. Those deep playoff runs take a toll and they need an infusion of talent.
We have one of the best receiving rooms in the league. The issue with the team is the DLine can’t generate pressure so we have to keep blitzing. The offense could use a better back but outside of that it’s probably the best offense since 22

There's a reason these memes exist and just so happens to coincide with that time period where they just so happen to eek out close games.
