Yeah man, plus sht really gets rolling when you begin speaking things into existence. You gotta take control of your destiny :win:
100%.

I'm all for it. It's not just controlling your own destiny...but moreso, you can't live life with regrets and I'm finding tjis out more and more each day. If i would of never taken any sort of chance in my life...where would I be now?

Plus with the clothing thing...I felt like i just had to do it. I just kind of got sick of being content with the way things were, having to accept them or trying to without making any sort of effort to be that change you want to see in the world.

yup.....gotta hustle
Especially in New York. You dont hustle...you don't survive.

I mean...I came from a relatively good situation with family finance wise but out of everybody in my family I've had the most amount of jobs. Cause I love to work, and I recognize the value of a dollar. I just want to be that person that inspires others. Also, as well, I'm always looking towards to long term instead of the short term. Like where I'm going to be 5-10 years from now instead of weeks or days from now.

I mean..the first screennname I've had on this forum was Legacy...and thats cause i feel like I'm still trying to build my own. I dont to be associated with or known as some crazy person with outbursts on the web...lol. cause the people i know in real life don't even see that in me and they've always recognized my talent and creativity. It's not even about fame but about respect and recognition; no one is going to hand you any of those things...like anything in this life you have to work for them.

Exactly...why should i or anybody else feel like I have to be dependent on anybody to clothe or feed me or make me money when I can do it on my own.

My ultimate goal is to get a screenprint factory going and start making my own t-shirts and boards and not have to deal with anybody else.

Its this idea of dependence I dont like. Why should I have to work a job I dont like just to make money to spend on rent, bills, food, and a little fun money on the side? Just to do it all over again? Thats monotonous. I'd rather do something I like to make money.

I made enough money to sit on my ass here in a subleted two bedroom apartment here in queens and not work for while...lol. i could always choose to go back to my insurance job if I needed any extra loot...but I honestly dont want to.

The thing is...when you depend of a boss to pay you, clothe you, and feed you....you are not the man of the house...he is.

You have to create your own opportunities. If you have a vision in your head you have to do everything possible to turn it into a tangible reality.

Personally I like making projects, sketching out ideas, and then looking at the finished project and being beside myself when i realized that not too long ago this was jusy a sketch or pixels on a screen.

Ive just been focusing my time and the money i make on my side hustles...still got a main way. Sad to say I've made more money selling clothes ive designed than at my last job. It seems I'm terrible at sales jobs except when it's something i design that people actually want and im not cold calling or forcing them to buy it.
what kind of designs do you make on your shirts breh :lupe:

yup....depending on anybody for anything is a weakness...i always try to be in the position where ppl have to depend on me....because the world is cold man, and growing up in buffalo teach u how to survive....either u search for food or starve...because cacs aint giving us shyt but a foot in our ass

Word.

shyt...i had (technicaly still have) a 9 to 5 hustle but i used what I made from that to put into my business. When i was at work calling clients...i was also on my computer makibg clothing designs, getting an idea of how much of what item should be in stock, what would sell, what wouldnt sell, getting everything situated with the shop, trying to scout for locations...I actually ran my own shop and business for the last month...before that I couldnt even imagine running my own business let alone anybody entrusting me with running a business or giving me any responsibility with a business. It made me grow up real fast...aged me almost.

Working 7 days a week. Working 60 hour weeks. Opening the storefront. Closing the storefront. I even slept there some nights cause i would be too tired to get the train back to my place...but it was like my baby man...and like having a baby you want to take care of it cause that's your own creation. But it was powerful.

I'll admit I was really afraid and nervous to go through with it, especily everything leading up to the opening of the store. Eventually it paid off. Probably had almost 150 people come through the store. Mad diversity in the crowds of people coming through and browsing. I made sure to greet everyone with a smile and handshake...make em feel welcome. Even if people didnt like my designs or my friend's brands designs it didn't phase me cause not everyone is going to like it...but it did give me an idea of what not to do with the next collection and how to get to that point where more people would dig it not really in a sell out way...but more so a natural progression.
