Yeah I can’t see SA making Castle available, no matter how much SAC might insist.

If that’s the dealbreaker, take your chances in the offseason in FA and hope Fox doesn’t sign an extension if he gets traded prior to.
That's a big gamble to take if you're SA, although they could theoretically try to do what Minny did in the Gobert deal in offering up more picks/swaps instead of including McDaniels in the deal.

Stephon Castle had shooting concerns coming into the league.
It's only been half a season, but Spurs fans have to admit that Castle hasn't done a lot to quiet those shooting concerns. He's been inconsisent, and I'm being optimistic when I say that. There have been some really good games, and some awful clunkers.

The Spurs shouldn't include Castle in a trade given that Fox is rumored to want to play in San Antonio when he hits free agency.
Still, the PG/SG situation in San Antonio doesn't feel solidified to me. You can excuse Castle. It's fair to be more critical of Vassell, though.

Well maybe just maybe if the Spurs didn't let one of the GOAT shooting coaches leave maybe there would be some improvement :francis:

Prospect of playing with Wemby trumps all the shyt you're talking about.
I'm sure it does. Still lame to talk about how you want to win now and then go to a team who over the last 5 years has won less than the team you are currently on. Spurs are building this team almost from nothing. They got 2 guys who you shouldn't trade, Wemby and Castle, and Sac definitely should be asking for Castle.

That's a year and a half away and a lot could change during that time.

The Spurs in no way, shape, or form should trade Castle for Fox. Fox has reached his ceiling and he’s not the piece to get you a WCF let alone a title. Only way I’d make that move is if Castle isn’t included in any deal.

Castle is different

Different at what? Missing 3's? Spurs shouldn't trade for an all nba caliber guard so they can keep a Rookie barely averaging 10 points and shooting 25% from 3?

Castle don't get a jumpshot he won't get much better than what he is now as teams just pack the paint against him and dare him to shoot.

Vassell and Fox is a more natural fit in the backcourt

It will be a matter of time if the spurs have some type of losing streak, here comes family members on social media talking bad about the organization/players and coaches

He’s a rookie. You want to harp on his 3-point % like you haven’t seen Amen Thompson destroying teams. Also, it’s not like Fox is some knockdown 3-point shooter, he’s been a low 30s percentage shooter his entire career.

Fox doesn’t have a next level to get to and he’s proven to be a coach killer with an agent willing to torpedo your locker room.

He’s not on the caliber Brunson, Shai, Kyrie or Luka. He’s probably not on the same level as a Donovan Mitchell. Why would you mortgage your future to get to the first round of the playoffs, which you could do with CP3? If you can get him without Castle then it’s worth it.

yep. Didn't Paul George tell the pacers that he wanted a trade to lakers, and magic didn't wanna trade him because he'd rather wait a year to acquire him for free.

Ended up traded to okc and signed an extension. Can't take that chance when shyt can change in an instant

This is a whole lot of bullshyt not worth responding to. Just know that anyone who read this thinks you’re an idiot and uninformed. “On the same caliber…” Brodie you’re not even using words right.

Fox has been in Sacramento for damn near 8 years and only now when he doesn’t sign an extension do these things come out about him. Fans are dense. What coach did he kill? When it was Sabonis and Derozan that had the most issues with Mike Brown? That whole locker room seems happier with him gone but the dude chilling with him and his family is the coach killer? Do you see how dumb this sounds? This is literally why propaganda is effective in this country - seemingly intelligent people think they’re immune to it and don’t realize it’s affected them. You have no reason to say anything about Fox or his wife who is one of the nicest people in the league but you felt comfortable typing that shyt out with nothing to support it.

I truly hate what the internet has done to a lot of you.

The timing of him being called out then Mike being fired definitely looked suspect. But all the local media I read/listened to said Sabonis and Detoazan had the beef with Mike.

What I can't understand is why Wilcox/McNair let Fox drown out there with the perception he got Brown fired when that wasn't the case. The corny millennium house party dudes from sac ESPN pretty much pinned it all on Wilcox. Called him a snake and said he's constantly leaking to media and making team look bad. Said no one within org trusts him. If you have two gms you have zero.

Wonder how much that contributed to Fox finally saying get me outta here.
