Trading back is Howie's #1 choice, but whether they pick at 10 or a few spots later corner is still on the table imo. I think he would love the idea of taking the Davis/Dean approach with Witherspoon/Gonzalez and have them be the first man up if Slay or Bradberry get hurt, before eventually starting in 2024.
Definitely allows them to stick with the talent over need philosophy they've leaned into since the Reagor disaster. They could go DB, DL or OL depending on who falls.

I dont think anybody did, at this point they might have walked away from CJ negotiations and just got a deal done with BradberryWell didn’t expect bradberry back

salute to Big Play Slay .. one of the best corners to ever play for this franchise.
In context I would ve wanted to keep Slay but paying top dollar for a 32 year old corner on an extension is bad business.
Now they have 4 million in cap space to fill the holes but still major holes on defense with the quality of players that have left us.
That damn defense and Gannon blew it for us

Just the business side of things, makes no sense to commit to a corner with an extension that kicks in at age 33. Bradberry coming back on a discount made it the easy call as well.
