I understand OP'S plight, I've been playing 360/PS3 games I missed to quench my action thirst.

If you're on the Xbone they are releasing Warriors Orochi 3 ultimate for free next Monday. That's all the hack and slash action combat you ever dream of.

If your on the Quad then look into that Toukiden game that someone mentioned earlier. It kinda like monster hunter with heavy combat. Made by the same folk who did Warriors Orochi 3. Also Odin Sphere is another Quad exclusive that is an action rpg and I've heard nothing but great things about it.
