The same magazine who put a suicide bomber on their front cover? Their opinion on anything since then should always be considered null and void.

It's the best song on the fukkin album

Young male cacs hate slow Jams. That’s actually a good way to see who’s a cac among us, ask them an R&B or Soul question they can’t google.
The funny thing is, I used to skip Lady In My Life as a kid. Key word being “kid”. It wasn’t until I made a slow jams playlist that I truly appreciated its genius.

Have that song playing while crushing pink cookies in a plastic bag, and tell me it don’t hit differently then.:wow:

I just sat down and played this album the other day. On a side note, it’s easily the best sounding Vinyl record I own. The production and mastering was superb.

Anyway, Lady in My Life is indeed a classic slow jam. Great song. But it just seems a bit out of place with the rest of the songs on that album. I can’t explain why, but it’s a very skippable song. It feels like it runs longer than it really does.

It seems out of place because it's right after PYT

Rolling Stone is the epitome of old, out of touch white people who embody every musical stereotype associated with them. Nobody sane thinks "The Lady in My Life" doesn't have a place on Thriller. They could have made it easy on themselves. Could have easily said "The Girl is Mine" and nobody would care, but because one of their heroes (Paul McCartney) is on it, that means it's acceptable. fukk them.

By the way, I'm still convinced Usher was trying to create his own "Lady in My Life" when he came out with this:

:ohhh: I never realized the connection until now :salute:
